You can have mine as I can't afford over 500 euro for 2 tickets. Pm me and I'll send you a code

Missus picked great seats for Monday, fken aib notification never came up, tried again, nothing. Called me, tried again with my card, ok seats, notification all good, confirmed, something went wrong, error. Second time with my card, timed out. Ffs. But in the end, ended up with 4 reasonably cheap upper davin stand tickets. Better than nothing

Finally got through for Sunday/Monday but only premium tickets left will try again in the morning.

Finally got through and there is no option to buy tickets, it just shows the seating layout and tells me the sale is happening now

Its ticketmaster that initiate the demand at a certain date and time. They could easily implement a system that removes that specific scramble for tickets but they dont want to because they are using a few clever psychological tactics to maximise sales.

First is the lack of ticket prices published in advance as that would turn people off even trying and it makes use of impulse when purchasing. How many people paid more for tickets among all the scramble today than they would have if asked beforehand?

The massive levels of FOMO are used to sell people on grabbing any ticket they can even the inflated packages, “enhanced experience” which is just some overpriced and widely available merchandise thrown in with more expensive ticket.

Ticketmaster are good at what they do, but they dont work for the band or provide a service for the customer, they initiate demand, leverage their dominance in the market and capitalise on it very very well.

Did you come through the link from the Coldplay email?

Nothing available for less than 300 quid on 3 days after checking since 10. Just wanted pitch tickets, even 1 to be honest. Will see what turns up on general release or next year.

Hi - would also really appreciate it if anybody has a spare MCD code for tomorrow morning that they are not using!

Have been trying all day but no luck unfortunately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,983 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Yeah, Ticketmaster will be delighted with how today went, extra 2 shows, massive demand and all over mainstream and social media. That a lot of the social media posts are negative won't cause them a mins thought as general sale is on Friday and tickets can only be got through them.

Not much chance of anything changing in how they handle these sales any day soon

That was it yea, got it sorted. None left now though.

MCD must be over the moon. 3 Taylor and 4 Coldplay. Big year for them

Before Ticketmaster could sell out 4 big concerts like this in an hour or 2 , now it takes then 6 hours, almost a full workday for some.

And still no tickets for some after all that.

    Thats progress for you.

    Hi,

No luck today either. Didn’t realise you had to register with MCD. If anybody has a spare code I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks

And its not even sold out because promoter and general sale is still to come

got in for the sunday night and just map of stadium, no option to purchase. Does this mean i have to start queue again in the morning or all pre sale gone now?

Is there any estimate on how many tickets have been set aside for presale? If its 20k a gig then there's hope for Friday. If its half then Friday will just be round 2 of today's shitshow.

Friday will be worse as no codes will be needed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,995 ✭✭✭riddles

I was queued at 10 am this morning initially at 18000 and waited two hours to be offered zero tickets at any price others queues after me got offered tickets.

Nope, nobody knows. If anyone claims they do, they're just guessing.

They sold enough tickets today, to ensure that 2 extra dates were added. How many tickets were going on sale for each day?

I would say it was higher than 20,000. I think I saw someone from the thread 30000 ish in the queue getting tickets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,910 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

Ticketmaster is a monopoly and should not be allowed under EU rules.

Also a lottery based system and personal identification on ticket sites would cut out all the bots and all the wasted time by real humans.

"Queuing" is a nonsense for online ticket sales.

On since 10 am today, really disappointed. If anyone has a spare MCD code I'd appreciate it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,419 ✭✭✭stooge

same here, got through only to see "PResale happening now" but no link to select tickets. No code from MCD yet.

If anyone has MCD code they are not using it would be greatly appreciated.🙂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Bunk Moreland

I'll take an MCD code too if anyone isn't using it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭Med101007

Yeah but I'd say half of the 30000 in front of them didn't have the presale code

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,199 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Got in early for Night 4 (surly the residents won't kick up) and picked up a Lower Cusack 305 ticket

The 'Aisle seat' option is becoming a thing for gigs now. Pity as I was lucky enough to pick up 1 aisle seat in the past

Roll on next September, boy that was a stressful sale

i'm trying to think of any other example where multiple bodies work and work successfully in competition for the same event.

Anyone know why I couldn't use the Ticketmaster App to buy tickets? Got the message when I tried to buy on the app on the phone:

"Please use your mobile browser or desktop to shop for these tickets."
