Option now available to print your tickets or download to phone or PDF.

That should accelerate the level of locally available tickets.

Just looking at the site and it never ceases to amaze me that it looks like Ireland are the only country with all tickets sold out! We're a tiny country but so unbelievably good as a travelling support.

You can even still get tickets for a couple of the France games and they are hosting the tournament. Tickets also available for all other nations for some games.

How does it work with the beneficiary if tickets are going to a friend? Do you put in their name and email or your own? Does it matter?

French people generally don't have as much disposable income for the kind of prices being charged for the Namibia game in Marseille. For a bigger draw, or lower prices they'd be snapped up by people going along for something to do. When people are already spending a fortune on travel and accommodation a few hundred quid for tickets seems like less of an expense.

When the CC final was in Marseille last year I met loads of people who had shelled out 7-800 quid for flights, plus last-minute accommodation and tickets.

Were there many LAR fans who had done similar in Dublin?

Yeah put in their details and then press the transfer button. They get a PDF. Note once you transfer a ticket you can't change the beneficiary name.

You think they are going to check ID for match to names on every person coming in? Doesn’t seem feasible

Ticket site not really working for me right now not sure if it’s the system

What about a ticket that is downloaded twice, I presume only first person to scan in will get in?! Same ticket, same barcode etc.

They were checking everybody's ID against the ticket name on the way into the Italy match in the 6N...

This is a normal process in Italy because it is the law, but won't happen anywhere else. The only problem you'll ever face in that situation is if you have some problem with the ticket and need to deal with the ticketing office at the ground and then they for whatever reason choose not to deal with you.

My question for anyone who has played around with the writing beneficiaries, transfer, downloading etc. is: Can you still put a ticket on the resale platform after you have written a beneficiary or downloaded it?

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 7,346 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sheep Shagger

Just checked and it looks like you can sell on after you've created a personalised ticket which is a bit of a worry.

I actually put my name of 2 tickets I've sold privately and have a pdf of those, i then updated the beneficiary to the person I sold them too and transfered on. In theory I could still go to the game and shaft the person I sold them too (as long as I go through the gates first).

Thank you for looking at it. Yeah that is a bit of a worry. These sorts of deals work on trust and I hope if anyone is using tickets like this that they at least have a way to track down the person should something ever go wrong.

My question is not for fleecing someone obvs, but because I'm still not 100% sure if I can make the games yet myself but want to look at the tickets and had heard a few strange stories about the website not working 100% sound on the first day.

Are the barcodes / QR codes the same.

I'd have expected them to void the original and generate a new one. Though with how crap the site is wouldn't be surprised if they managed to screw up the tickets too

They're QR codes on the tickets so I can't really tell.

I may have missed the boat on this, but any idea the best route back to Brussels the day after the Scotland game? SNCF/Thalys is €95 for a train, are there any budget options on that route that people have found?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,394 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

You can get a FlixBus for under €15. One goes every half hour or so and takes 4 hours.

BlaBlaBus is a little more expensive but runds regularly as well.

Just downloaded our tickets....starting to get real now.

We're flying into Brussels and getting the train to Paris. Anyone know how long it takes to get from Brussels airport (Ryanair) into Brussels city centre?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,394 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

If it's Charleroi at least an hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 179 ✭✭Tinter Box

Trains are every 15 minutes. Another 15 will get you to Bruxelles midi which is where paris trains go from. It’s a very convenient place to connect. Trains go direct from basement of airport.

Just to add last time I was there it took well over an hour to get through passport control so need to factor in extra time getting from the plane to the train station.

am I correct in saying tickets can now be transferred to others if you have sold them on (not on the official resale) ?
