Currys Store Finder

Is this the most useless store finder you've ever seen? https://www.currys.ie/store-finder

You type in your Eircode or town and it comes back and tells you they don't have a store there.

You zoom out to have a look at the whole map of Ireland and there are no Currys stores displayed on the map.

If I type in Galway it shows me there is one store in Galway. So am I supposed to type in each of the 32 counties in order to get the answer to this closely-guarded secret??

Would it not be more useful if they could tell me where the closest store is to my address?

Worked for me.

Without typing any data, click in the 'Town or Eircode' box, then (in the dropdown box) ) click on 'use my current location'. You'll be asked to authorise the web browser to access your location. You will then see a map showing the branch(es) closest to you.

Sounds like it works better on a mobile device with GPS then. But on a laptop/desktop it seems to be of little use.

I typed in my Eircode from Dublin and it returned 6 stores between Naas and Swords showing a map with a pin for each store. On Desktop using Chrome. Seems to work okay for me.

For my eircode and a few towns I tried it just gives

"We're sorry, we couldn't find results for your search." and it displays no results on the map whatsoever.

If you happen to type in a county that has a store you will get some useful results.

I checked the mobile device and its similar behaviour.

If you type in mullingar, you get 0 results on the Ireland map.

If you type in Naas, you get Naas and Dublin results.

If you type in Galway, you get a result in Galway.

I'm guessing that's probably all the stores in Ireland then?

It's a fairly crappy implementation all right. Its got a radius of 30km: if a store is within 30km of the entered address, it will be displayed. If there's no store within 30km, none will be displayed.

If you're more than 30km away from any store, you basically have to start a game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.

I was on a desktop. I just tried it again and it worked, showed me several branches, sorted by ascending distance from me.
