    People will "lap it up"

He'll be back on RTE. He showed his respect for PAC by volunteering to show up and explain exactly as I had suggested last week.

RTE came up with the deal. They approached NK regarding the deal.

RTE falsely declared RT;s earnings in the statements.

RTE used dodgy back channels to fufill a contract for a deal they conjured up.

If that's not all true. I'm sure we'll hear from RTE what really happened. :)

Because we were instructed by RTE.

But remember, it was nothing to do with RTE and definitely not part of Tubs wages.

But it was also created and arranged by RTE, not us.

But no, we didn't know it was anything to do with RTE, we thought we were invoicing Renault.

Because we were instructed by RTE.

The deal with Renault and RTE have nothing to do with NK

    But RTE underwrote the deal.

Meaning. If for whatever reason renault pull out etc RTE would underwrite the contract. Meaning they would pay.

How can RTE pay NK? now Renault pull out?

RTE asked to be invoiced by NK to fullfill the contract they had underwritten.

It was a tripartite agreement. Of course it has something to do with NK and RT.

NK was involved though, he wasn't just making up invoices "as instructed by RTE". He made it sound like he gormless and led by "the big corporation".

    100%

RTE need to go on the attack tomorrow. They got hung out to dry by Creepy Kelly and the Toyman on Tuesday. If they stay meek on this, they will look even more amateur. Interesting to see what Backhurst does and whether he has bottle.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

    You know what I mean.

RTE / Renault have an agreement. NK's client is the service.

RTE underwrite the contract for that agreement to NK's client.

Of course he's involved. His client is the service.

But he's now invoicing a barter exchange. Because RTE have underwritten a contract/agreement that Renault have pulled out of.

RTE should not have hidden that fact. Once Renault pulled out payments should have stopped to NK from RTE.

OR RTE make a business case for RT on business needs or just fully disclose the commercial agreement.

All NK is doing is using the vehicle or mechanisim provided by RTE to get paid for his clients services.

That's not on NK or RT.

I worked with him once before he joined RTE. I spent about 1 hour working. About 15 years later in a crowded space he waved at me, came over and chatted. The only 2 times I have seen him. At the time it made me say I believe he has a photographic memory. Perhaps it's only guesswork on my part. It was very odd for him to remember me.

Strangest damn deal ever, its between RTE and Renault, but the only people to benefit from it is Ryan Tubridy and NKM.

It absolutely had to be cost neutral for Renault, they were very clear on that, and it cost RTE hundreds of thousands of euros. While Tubridy and the agents made out like bandits.

But yet it had nothing to do with NKM...

    Very strange indeed.

Nope. Where is this bilateral deal directly between RTE and Renault?

What I see is NK/ client as an essential part of the tripartite agreement.

Using your linkages I could just as easily say that NK and RTE have the agreement. Renault could be replaced by a different sponsor.

Lets go back, RTE wanted a 20% pay cut from all its top presenters. When RT's new contract was being negotiated, NK threw a strop. Someone, came up with a whizz to get more money for RT, outside of his normal salary. The two contracts were negotiated in tandem as Alan Kelly said. Walks, quacks and looks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. Certainly would reach the balance of probability in a civil case.

Well for a start not RT or CB.

Someone like Cillian Murphy or Saoirse Ronan is a celebrity.

Fair enough. More celebrity in the entertainment industry sense. I get that..

He showed up to regain his credibility. This lack of respect started by sending in the documents just hours before the first meeting so nobody had time to read

he then spent the day dodging questions, not answering questions, answering questions not asking. Bloating his own self importance.

The "RTE at fault for everything" doesn't wash

If that was the case why didn't he highlight all the money sitting in his account which he done no work for? or knowing his wages released was incorrect but he never said anything about it. The list goes on.

You of course are entitled to your own opinion. I am entitled to mine.

RTE should cut all ties with him, immediately. End of story then and let RTE move on with its reform.

    Sure is strange.

Why RTE would put their own reputation on the line for one man is very odd.

Why RTE would not disclose this in the statement of earnings is very odd.

The fact RTE chose to pay the lads from a barter exchange is very odd.

The fact Renault got involved at all is very odd.

RTE shouldn't have done any of the above.

NK is there to get bobs for his client and make money for himself.

    That's what he did.

RTE chose to deliver them bobs in a very underhanded manner.

Cillian Murphy would take offence if you termed him a celebrity.

Crooked Tubridy is finished. If Bakhurst has any balls he'll finish him soon and that's the only way RTE will get out of this and keep Government backing. However I don't have a lot of faith in Bakhurst after he recused himself from the Marty Morrissey problem. The public will condemn Tubridy now and the only friends he has left are the elderly, schoolkids and the extremely gullible. He's toast.

As I said there only defence is "rte tricked us into taking more public money"

Who requested rte underwrite the Renault contract? It had to be NK and are we to believe tubs knew nothing about this?

An agent works for their client to get them the best deal, that is their sole job.

We need Forbes to come before the committee and tell her side but I'd imagine she's signed an NDA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,021 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

I certainly have no problem with an agent getting the best deal for his client.

I do have a problem with lads pissing on our heads and telling us its raining.

Did PAC set a deadline for the documents to be provided? Why not?

Correct me if I'm wrong. The remit was agreed between both sides? So PAC new in advance the topics were that were going to be covered?

This saga has been going on for 3 weeks. That's plenty of time for a group of highly paid TD's and senators not to be sitting around asking the same questions as each other.

RTE are at fault washes for me. As everything I've seen or heard on this shows at every point of this issue. RTE is at fault.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,319 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

I disagree. An agent isnt just there to get to the 'best' deal in short term monetary value without consideration of reputation or long term. They are there to protect the clients career. NK failed.

Being well known in Ireland does not make you a celebrity. If you are going by the metric well known in Ireland you could say that the Healy-Rae's or Paul Murphy is a celebrity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭sporina

gee stop arguing - they are allllll lying - Ryan, Noel, Geraldine, Richard Collins et al..

but I really hope that Ryan is let go from RTE.. such a condescending arrogant twat... he's the one claiming to be a person of the people - he is in his a**e..

the ground floor staff of RTE will not want to have anything to do with him after all of this...

    If I am wrong - I stand corrected - but I don't think I am

I'd argue the healy-raes are celebrities. Especially in Kerry!

I don't know who Paul Murphy is, you might be right about him.
