Siun, Moya and Dee what a trio. Turns out balancing gender doesn't actually fix anything.

I think it will soon be every man and woman for themselves at management level in RTÉ - just wait and see them turn on eachother.

I cannot see how anyone long term continues at board level.

It was always an obvious possibility, when you are talking about a hidden slush fund how could you possibly trust that it was being operated honestly?

I made the analogy previously about somebody in a store selling stock on the side for cash. When caught he might claim he was only selling out of date or damaged items, but why on earth would you believe him...

Said it before, I fully expect that if they look into this properly then it will no longer be about incompetence or waste, it will be about fraud and criminal enterprise.

Putting on my grubby little deal hat, I'm at a loss to try understand why they didn't try to fake the contract date?

But, perhaps, maybe the whistle blower... is/was under the employ of NK?

Or is it a digital contract?

I'm pretty sure it was already reported that RT didn't sign the contract and a screenshot was added. They couldn't lie therefore but why did the idiot at NKM sign it after?

I don't think the drip feed is completely intentional. we should all be realising now that the people in charge at RTE hadn't a clue what was actually going on and they are only finding out now that they are being forced to look into the dark corners and black accounts. I suspect there was a fair bit of " don't ask, don't tell" going on.

That is the accounts that do not relate to toy show the musical. It was obvious to everyone that was a complete and total flop, where RTE management bought its own bullshit hype over the TS. They have done their damnedest to hide those losses from public view.

I hope Coveney gets torn asunder tomorrow.

Reading between the lines, does this mean Coveney was trying to hold on to a huge bag of money?

Commercially sensitive? Show us the figures? It's public money.

    Last post until tomorrow:

I’ve been contacted by 3 journalists from 3 different papers in the past few days……who said boards is dead?

    Night all.

Confirmation that Tubridy was pulling the strings with his own pay and making all the demands, not Noel Kelly:

"The documents show that former RTÉ director general Dee Forbes wrote to Mr Tubridy to not only guarantee his additional pay under a commercial agreement with Renault, but to guarantee that RTÉ would never ask him to take a reduction in fees."

I'm not a great committee watcher by any means, but I can't recall any time witnesses ostensibly on the same side turned on other witnesses also present at the same committee. It probably has happened, but it must be very rare.

We could indeed be in for a dramatic day tomorrow. And entertaining.

The real damage here will be the people that will just stop paying the TV licence.

At this point its not holes that people are digging, its mass graves.

Would RTE not be better to lay it all out on the table, or is there something else going on that could cause people to be prosecuted ?

    Cianan Brennan reports:

Tubridy signed the termination of his previous contract on July 24 2020, 3 days after that agreement had been approved on his behalf by Noel Kelly. Contract had been due to expire the following month, on 31 August. Tubs appears to have been up to speed as to what was happening. (No ****)

Kelly signed, Dee Forbes guaranteed Tubridy’s company Tuttle Productions that all fees payable to Tubridy under his new contract would be paid by RTE “without any reductions”

The top seven earners outside presenters at RTE are all on the executive board, with salaries ranging from €275,000 down to €241,000.

Tubridy (with his correct salary of €515,000, as opposed to the €440,000 RTE publicised) remains RTE’s highest paid contract employee.

As part of its infamous tripartite deal with RTE and Tubridy, Renault agreed, under a clause titled ‘Reputation of the Talent’, not to “do or say anything that will bring The Talent into disrepute”. Basically, keep your mouth shut.

Tubs was paid 25,000 a pop for each 2 hour event.

Three barter accounts is the word. RTÉ’s three barter accounts are held at major barter agencies - Miroma, Active and Astus - which is not good for RTÉ’s CFO, who insisted unequivocally at PAC last Thursday that there was only one such account

And where the **** were those journalists for years? All hoping for a slice of the RTE pie.

I don't think they can. The kindest possible interpretation of the drip feed is that management are only finding out the locations of the graves almost as we are. This is of course utter incompetence and the lack of oversight is the breeding ground for fraud.

Hopefully the investigations will show how fertile that breeding was.

Keep a close eye on Paragraph 2. Why did Forbes have to guarantee Tubridy that there would be no pay cut for him? That can only mean he personally demanded it.....did he even threaten not to sign the contract or to walk away unless she guaranteed this?

How will the anonomisation of the top 100 work, the public need to see how much a particular role pays. Will it show the role and then a mickey mouse name so the role can be identified but the presenter can't, for example...

    Hosts a 3 minute hourly entertainment/gossip slot during office hours on 2FM - Jane Doe - €125k.

His first statement of denial now reads all the more sinister.

As far as Emma O'Kelly... honestly, I think many of them are running on lack of sleep, and so we're seeing some silly statements from folks in charge.

I agree, the supposed 'gender equality' got folks into this mess. In fact, that was one of the early condemnations when this story broke, that 'virtue signalling' was used to hide the immorality going on in RTE.

As for the musical, people are saying it was a sinkhole for millions. HOW!?!?!?! WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING? Apparently they've just sent the files over. Purposefully late, so they won't have enough time to digest the figures, even if they're all there.

Everything hidden to **** too, no doubt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

I said I was going to bed but I can’t sleep.

Oh trust me I have made that point to them, and stated that this has been “hiding in plain sight” and some people have been talking about this for years. Some of us - not just me - have written emails to TDs about it. Some of us still have those emails….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

I’ve mentioned a morality clause previously, and re. bringing the organization into disrepute and that being grounds for termination. I also mentioned that it was RTÉ so they were probably too foolish to have one…….but…..they have one for 3rd parties and their dealing with Tubs, but not one for Tubs and his dealings with RTÉ.

    You couldn’t make this up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,141 ✭✭✭MrMusician18

Great, it's a bit **** late for them to be rocking the boat when it's already about to capsize.

The story was there for years, your posts were there. In ways I hope you gave them nothing because they didn't deserve it but at the same time I do want to see this boat sink to the very bottom.

The list consists of 84 employees and 16 contractors. 31 of them are presenters or non-management personnel. 10 of them are executives, and the other 59 are in assorted management roles
