It'll have to be the Alan Kellys, Stanley etc pushing. Leo made noise too, hope he keeps it up. If politicians see votes in it.

I clarified further. Just because he wasn't on the gravy train doesn't mean many weren't.

In an ideal world RTE's sponsors and advertisers would pull until there is a root and branch clear out of all the bad eggs.

I wonder is not being represented by him a sign of integrity.

Look I'm more surprised that employees didn't get freebies to things. I am just comparing your story to that of the employee representative. You say they get perks and so have others but some have said it was a few years ago and maybe they don't get anything anymore while the upper management party and play the poor mouth

Miriam in all designer pink - trying to hide her money with a sad voice and doey eyes. Never hung out with NK… never

Someone should ask Coveney if NK runs in his social life and watch his face

It was requested by Tubridy's agent; know anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that Tubridy and his agent would've discussed his contract and he would've been very much aware of the arrangement himself and RTE. His career is over, the least he could do is come out and be an honest man if he had even the slightest shred of decency or honour in him.

And just today we hear more revelations that as RTE underwrote the contract it meant that Tubridy was still legally obligated to attend Renault functions as per the original agreement; and it gets worse, due to RTE paying Tubridy the remaining commitments they also had to foot the bill for said Renault corporate events.

So there we have it, the people of Ireland who overwhelmingly paid for their TV Licence during the years in question not only topped up Tubridy's wage unbeknownst to anyone other than RTE, Tubridy and his agent, and I'm assuming Renault, they also paid for Renault corporate events. All the while they were boasting about top earners taking pay cuts and giving themselves a pat on the back for how great and noble they all were, and at the same time the general staff of RTE were being laid off or taking pay cuts and having to use outdated and damaged equipment, and working at times in less than reasonable conditions.

This is only the beginning of the corruption, deceit and downright morally corrupt and possibly even criminal behaviour that is now going to make its way into society; RTE will have to be shut down as the organisation has lost all trust and credibility.

In fairness , this being your first post is a joke hahahah

Can any criminal proceedings be brought against RTE, Ryan and Noel etc.,

How Richard Collins and Geraldine O'Leary will go to Montrose tomorrow to work, I don't know.

Surely it's in their safety to stay away.

I would say they should be sacked but then they wouldn't need to appear before PAC again. Best they are left in position till this is cleared up. But they should all be removed except Anne O'Leary who it looks like did her job and acted when she notified of this account

One thing I'll say for everyone who faced the committee, including the CFO, they showed up. And keep showing up.

Major respect for that. And they're taking a lot of the hate and ire - a lot of it is clearly justified but some of it is a projection from those not showing up.

Showing up is and will always be a million times better than what DF, NK, and RT are doing. Hiding in silence.

I presume that the barter account is held with the barter exchange and not a bank.

It looks like you lodge services to the account where others can buy them and for facilitating the exchange, the exchange broker charges a fee when you cash out.

And your one Suin that asked Dee Forbes to resign should thrown out. That decision seems very calculated in setting up Dee Forbes as a scape goat or it was a decision made in a panic. Either way it should never have happened.

Now in saying that Dee Forbes hasn't helped herself by pulling the sick card and allowing these incompetents throw her under the bus without any defense from Forbes. But as I said Dee Forbes has made that decision herself and probably helped by being asked to resign. If I was a TD I would be livid over that

No matter what I or anyone here thinks there are a substantial amount of people who are interested in the inane ramblings of someone like Lottie Ryan or similar (nothing against the woman personally) that's ife and it makes her money. Any new restaurant or club or bar first order of the day for the PR company handling the opening, who to give the free tickets too, why, because social media accounts, color magazine with the Sunday paper will be full of such and such spotted in x bar with her Irish Rugby team member bf, or something about their fabulous life style, on her social media, she will mention the bar they went to, the restaurant they ate at its gold in terms of publicity for the bar or restaurant. The world is not going to be remade as somethhing pure where everything is earned on merit because of a scandel at RTE thats not how the world operates.

I don't think so. This is the top of the tip of the iceberg and they have protected a lot of people contemporary and legacy. They will be celebrated and compensated. They are "heroes" to the TOP 10 who took the verbal beating on their behalf of a public money in plain sight heist.

No doubt the barter company is a legit business and is entitled to its 35 percent for the service it offered as you describe however RTE is appears were happy to use it as a path to move funds around where for these transactions they received nothing for that 35 percent fee that they wouldn't have got by using a regular bank account.

Every 65k sent to tubsidy via this route was costing 100k it would appear.

I never heard of a barter account

I agree and what was the motivation for that and also the compensation for that.

The Barter account says hold my beer.

Regardless thats their duty or job to attend, the truth doesnt mind being questioned.

    Lies on the other hand?

As a journalist can I just say I would never demean myself by publishing an NKM puff piece or write a story about one of NKM's clients.

It's embarrassing to see some of these puff pieces that are so cringeworthy.

You're a bit out of touch. You believed Dee Forbes was genuinely unwell and after it took almost 90 seconds Collins to admit his salary, isn't it obvious that RTE workers and the nation is rightly angry with his arrogance.
