Pleasantly warm in Longford.. Fairly strong breeze though so not as warm as it could be feeling. Great day for getting some outdoor jobs done.

Met Éireann very unsure about tomorrow, last night they said 17-23°c, this morning 15-19°c, and now it's 17-21°c.

Blue skies in Galway this morning. Pulses of heavy rain last night. I hope it's dry for the big match!

Dull and damp in D24 but actually enjoyable to run in compared to the dead heat of the last few weeks.

Nobody out which is also a bonus! Set to clear up by midday though 🤞

Cleared up nicely in Cork after a very wet start.

What are the charts saying? Any sign of a few dry sunny days together?

Lovely day in Cork, but not quite as lovely as Met Eireann believe!

Or maybe the temps are about to rise about 6 or 7 degrees

Something very wrong there as it seems to be night time as well. Are you sure you have selected the correct location?

Shannon 18c. I don’t think it will reach 20c today. If it doesn’t It’ll be the first day this June it will have failed to do so.

We are after having an unreal thunder storm here in NCD.

We were sitting outside, next thing a flash of Lightning and roar of thunder.

Gave us about 3 mins to put away umbrella and cushions from outside chairs before the heavens opened.

Wind picked up, lashing rain and we even had hailstones at one point for about 5 mins.

Calm after the storm now, still cloudy but hopefully no more rain.

Must have been near continuous overlapping thunder for a solid half hour in Balbriggan. Sounded very strange. From half way though the storm until well after the rain stopped, the thunder was just rolling back and forth across the sky. Almost didn't sound like thunder at times.

A little bit of hail thrown in but the heavy rain was short lived.

A showery morning with some beautiful fluffy clouds floating aimlessly across a threatening sky. Time to take stock.

Feels a bit autumnal this morning. Frequent heavy blustery showers overnight and this morning. Doesn’t feel cool though so not quite autumnal.

after a horrible morning weatherwise the afternoon has improved alot, plenty of sunshine and dry and still feeling warmish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 312 ✭✭Strong and Faithful

Still feeling reasonably warm in the south east.

This 26th of June reminds me of the same date in 2007 as I've vomiting and all the rest on the same date and the weather was similar. April, May 2007 were wonderful sunny warm months. The weather broke around 7th June. Very heavy thundery downpours for the rest of the month with a few exceptions of days. Just hoping this year doesn't go that way.

the gfs has the current area of low pressure just to our north-west rotating around upon itself over and over like a washing machine for the next 2 weeks. I'm finding it difficult to believe this will verify but we've been here before during the summer when similar setups can persist over us for weeks on end, I hope this isn't the case this summer. We just have to have some patience and watch the charts and see do we eventually get some movement and improvement in sight once we get into the 1st week of July. For the moment the area of low pressure is going nowhere fast.

We had 6 pretty poor Summers in a row in the West from 2007 to 2012. A lot of those years we had good Aprils and Mays. This years May was mixed and January to April were poor enough. Hopefully either July or August is reasonable because despite a spectacularly warm June we have not had any other decent months this year.

Exactly re. our Spring. 2007-12 were depressing summers for the most optimistic. And 2015. We've had a stretch of decent summers now. Hope it's not a 7 year cyclical thing. 10 days and hopefully big forecast changes.
