With Summer officially around the corner, let's hope for a decent spell of weather.
Personally hoping for fairly pleasant and consistent rather than long spells of rain and odd hot burst! I can hope...
We had 6 pretty poor Summers in a row in the West from 2007 to 2012. A lot of those years we had good Aprils and Mays. This years May was mixed and January to April were poor enough. Hopefully either July or August is reasonable because despite a spectacularly warm June we have not had any other decent months this year.
the gfs has the current area of low pressure just to our north-west rotating around upon itself over and over like a washing machine for the next 2 weeks. I'm finding it difficult to believe this will verify but we've been here before during the summer when similar setups can persist over us for weeks on end, I hope this isn't the case this summer. We just have to have some patience and watch the charts and see do we eventually get some movement and improvement in sight once we get into the 1st week of July. For the moment the area of low pressure is going nowhere fast.
This 26th of June reminds me of the same date in 2007 as I've vomiting and all the rest on the same date and the weather was similar. April, May 2007 were wonderful sunny warm months. The weather broke around 7th June. Very heavy thundery downpours for the rest of the month with a few exceptions of days. Just hoping this year doesn't go that way.
Still feeling reasonably warm in the south east.
after a horrible morning weatherwise the afternoon has improved alot, plenty of sunshine and dry and still feeling warmish.
It's cold again.
Closed the windows in the house for the first time in a month today - I enjoyed the summer of 2023 :-)
a rotten morning here in Meath blustery, squally showers and relatively cool.
Feels a bit autumnal this morning. Frequent heavy blustery showers overnight and this morning. Doesn’t feel cool though so not quite autumnal.
A showery morning with some beautiful fluffy clouds floating aimlessly across a threatening sky. Time to take stock.
Inshore ,Mayo
Off we go again, another thinderstorm!
They will be drowned at Sam Fender if anyone goes early for supporting act.
Must have been near continuous overlapping thunder for a solid half hour in Balbriggan. Sounded very strange. From half way though the storm until well after the rain stopped, the thunder was just rolling back and forth across the sky. Almost didn't sound like thunder at times.
A little bit of hail thrown in but the heavy rain was short lived.
We are after having an unreal thunder storm here in NCD.
We were sitting outside, next thing a flash of Lightning and roar of thunder.
Gave us about 3 mins to put away umbrella and cushions from outside chairs before the heavens opened.
Wind picked up, lashing rain and we even had hailstones at one point for about 5 mins.
Calm after the storm now, still cloudy but hopefully no more rain.
Shannon 18c. I don’t think it will reach 20c today. If it doesn’t It’ll be the first day this June it will have failed to do so.
Good shot of thunder now in Naas, been very warm after showers earlier but gone very dark now.
Humid and warm in Dublin
Something very wrong there as it seems to be night time as well. Are you sure you have selected the correct location?
Lovely day in Cork, but not quite as lovely as Met Eireann believe!
Or maybe the temps are about to rise about 6 or 7 degrees
What are the charts saying? Any sign of a few dry sunny days together?
Cleared up nicely in Cork after a very wet start.
Dull and damp in D24 but actually enjoyable to run in compared to the dead heat of the last few weeks.
Nobody out which is also a bonus! Set to clear up by midday though 🤞
Blue skies in Galway this morning. Pulses of heavy rain last night. I hope it's dry for the big match!
Met Éireann very unsure about tomorrow, last night they said 17-23°c, this morning 15-19°c, and now it's 17-21°c.
Cloudy all day in North Kerry but warm. Had a shower this afternoon, nothing to write home about
Pleasantly warm in Longford.. Fairly strong breeze though so not as warm as it could be feeling. Great day for getting some outdoor jobs done.
Eglinton airport Derry 26c at 2.50pm last report. Also Donegal airport 22c at 2pm, 12c at 3pm. Whatever happened
Savage warm. IPhone reahed 26⁰ around 2pm.
Blue skies and white high cloud.
Family sent traffic photos from Limerick. Such a different sky there grey and cloudy.
I think 25c is todays max, today has been a lovely day, wish we could have this everyday until mid September.
Up to 25 degrees now at phoenix Park, wonder might it sneak a 26 or 27 today.
Another shite day in Cork 🫠
