Really enjoying this. Great watching a talented band with such a range.

    Jesus this is boring set.

There was a great run of songs there, and he goes and kills the momentum with this elevator music shite

I'm not a fan but they aren't any worse than this at the moment. A bit more upbeat than this poser show.

    Anyway back on topic 😀

saw them at EP last year - it was pissing rain, but even allowing for that, I just couldn't get into it.

He sounds like he's an impersonator rather than a singer.

All that cough medicine from during the week has him spaced. Lol

Not feeling this set, i hate to be stuck in the crowd.

I think he's an outstanding, sensitive and underrated talent - but sadly watching this tonite he's showing indications of walking a path of similarly fated artists before him.

This is bizarre..of all the songs he could of chosen...

Carly Rae Jepsen, Pale Waves, Fred Again and Warpaint all great earlier.

Small bit of Young Fathers I saw was good too. Need to catch up with the full set, plus Chvrches and Sparks.

Foo Fighters and Royal Blood seemed like usual generic meat and two veg rock.

AM seem shite, usual crooning nonsense from the couple of songs I saw.

Watching Kelis now and Hot Chip to finish off.

Great footage of a wide range of ages enjoying it in the crowd.

If I wanted to be polite yet plausible he looks like before he came on stage he drank four bottles of Codinex.

Dunno what everyone is so shocked about, this isn’t much different to when they last headlined in the Fri nite about 10 years ago, except now they have more slow songs from recent albums. Only difference is even their old songs have slowed down a bit. Same gig tho. My favourite of them was when they headlined the Fri nite 3 times ago, they played the Bond tune diamonds are forever, and Alex hadn’t started wearing suits then.

He has reached Bob Dylan levels of ruining his own songs.

You must be watching an older gig on youtube or something.

This is a terrible performance and setlist. There's clearly something wrong with him, be it sick or wired.

The band are even looking at each other at times like WTF

They are getting slated on twitter and social media.

As many others have said, wasnt feeling the A.M. seen them at EP - similar act. Not headliner material - ahead of foo fighters, wft. Anyways, tuned into Kelis - banging (with a nirvana mix). Good enough for bill Murray, will do me !

great setlist and performance. It's all subjective sure.

Brilliant from AM. Saw foo fighters earlier. Boring, same ol shite. Fair play to the monkeys. Sound is great. Even their old songs sound better

Yeah true I guess, there is no energy to them. I said their last time headlining was similar but I suppose it did have a lot more zip to it than this tonight. He must be a bit sick still.

Great response from crowd for the encore. They want more!

Jesus this is piss poor from the arctic monkeys.

It’s just so laid back and Alex seems to be putting on some sort of theatrical voice or something.

Very talented band but there’s no crowd interaction and the songs seem slowed down?

Ah don't go. Maybe 1975 will make an appearance.

I dont think he is in that Jim Morrison 'out of it'... his singing and timing is good but the set list and tempo is shite...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 151 ✭✭Spooch

He likes singing in a way that no one else can sing along

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,466 ✭✭✭spakman

they're not in a smoky jazz or blues bar ...

Brutal tempo for main stage of Glastonbury

That Sparks song 'Crying in her Latte' goes out to Emily Eavis tomorrow morning after this Monkey business.
