Does anyone no how high they go with numbers in Tipperary , got mid 50’s wonder would they ever reach this , new to all this first time applying

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 sanktrangelov

My OOM is 359 in Cork and 467 in Limerick. The qualifying score of 294 appears exceptionally low though. Mine was 533.

It was my first time applying through one of these tests.

Be honest - do I have any realistic chance of getting an interview here?

Definitely more chances than myself as my OOM for Limerick is 831🫣😊

Last year when you came 50th for louth did they not reach that number for interview? Trying to gauge if I've a chance or not

If you look up the civil service mobility map it will show you what departments are in every county and the staffing levels - can be good to gauge where spots might come up!

Last time was in 60s now oom over 200 raging, I did lots of middling adequate answers which seems to be bad, but had marked highest answer in almost all the competencies first section . Really disappointed as I was about to be called in next round of interviews for at least 1 county and now no chance this round. Hopefully this is a 1 year panel only.

    Hi,

Just wondering what different departments are in AGS and What's your duties usually involve

    Thanks

Are they not doing the reasoning assessments this year? Really thought that would be the bulk of the OOM.

Depends where you're assigned. If in a station you will be to a sgt. Or inspector's desk moving paper from one desk to another adding a report to it from your office more or less.

If you are in a regional HQ you could be anywhere from crime to finance.

I figured the situational questions were more fodder for potential interview questions rather than any kind of hard data. I picked my responses more with an eye to how I would defend them if asked in person. Be very disappointed now if I have to wait a year to game out a psychometric when verbal-numerical-deductive practice tests were all strong.

Does anybody know how high they went with OOM numbers last years in Limerick area?

Received a lovely message this morning to say my results were incorrectly calculated. They’ve added another 100😔

I am on Hse panel and hope to get on civil service panel if my number is ever reached 😀

Has anyone got experience in both and if so which is better - in terms of flexibility/getting part time after probation, variety of work etc...

    Would love your feedback ❤

On a suggestion from a post above I googled the civil service mobility map

this is what I found. I think it’s showing what positions are available In what dept and how many of each position that is there.

does anyone know if the number of positions are the positions available to fill or the total number of positions in that building (including ones currently filled!)

it’s worth a look anyways because I found a few departments near me that I wasn’t aware of.

hope it helps you too 🙂

    It's total positions.

When opened up the website it gives the option to choose available spaces in each department, in our instance it is CO.

So how can you tell the difference in terms of is it taken or available?

  • Registered Users Posts: 269 ✭✭Moomooland

@Passenger123 i was thinking the same

Could anyone explain your 1st and 2nd choice?

When they reach your OOM in your second choice do you get called?

Just seen pervious comment someone was in 40s OOM for 2nd choice and I asked did they not get called and they said they picked another county as 1st choice?

Totally new to this so very sorry if it's a stupid question.

Hello I am enquiring has anyone else had issues with Public Jobs getting your preferred location wrong? I know I put the right location but they are telling me I selected a different location. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

Hi Poppydane . Thanks for getting back to me . I have done that and it states the wrong location that I applied for on the location preference still.

200 for me😐️ Yay Westmeath..."The total score received and OOM for all other counties were correct."

Agreed, I would’ve aced verbal-numerical-deductive tests etc but the situational judgement test seems a very odd way to rank potential candidates. There are no right or wrong answers and no way to know how to improve at them? It’s all a bit bizarre, anyone know why they changed to SJT’s this year and if they will revert back next year?

It’s total positions in each dept. - it can help to gauge where you could be placed ie larger depts will likely have more opportunity than small ones

afaik positions available refers to the grades in that dept so that you know if you can potentially get mobility there (if you are a CO and they don’t have CO positions in that dept you won’t be able to go there on mobility)
