OP, if the DEASP won’t give you a payment you can always try the community welfare.

They might be willing to offer a temporary payment, especially if you offer to pay them back afterwards.

Was in a similar situation last summer and they arranged a payment to keep me going for a few weeks.

If that’s the case why do you think you need to lie about your reasons for signing on?

i didn’t say you were. But you’re still lying to the DEASP, committing fraud (like it or not) so that you can take a break between jobs.

Instead of defrauding the welfare why don’t you try and save some money to support you during a job gap, like most financially sensible adults do?

You can try the community welfare officer for a transition payment

Despicable attitude, “I’ll have that money thank you, I feel like it, I’ll spend your money, everyone else can p1$$ off”

Yes . They wil want bank statements going back 3 months.

You obviously don't need the money from the public purse if you have lots of savings.

Community welfare services are for those who have no money and need it. You have money.

You obviously don't realise how long the processing time is for payments to be set up 😄.
