Ronnie's had a dismal season, even with the easy draw it would have been a bad reflection of the rest of the field if he'd breezed to an 8th title.

Allen goes to world number 1 if he gets to the final now, I think. Brecel can actually get to no. 1 if he wins the trophy and Allen loses in the semis.

Luca out partying, drinking and playing FIFA till all hours before the tournament. And out drinking until 7am after beating Williams, and went out that day again. Great routine. 😂 Who needs jogging or painting?

He had plenty chances to make decent breaks but was playing absolute rubbish.

Brecel made plenty errors, but wasnt punished. I think he will be beaten next round. The likes of Selby would destroy him

Possibly, but I wouldn't rate his defeat of O'Sullivan that highly. He played well enough, but didn't have to be anything special.

I can't watch Selby so really hope Higgins wins. This tournament is perilously close to becoming a bit crap.

While Brecel was wrapping up on the other side there was a half hour chase over the last red. Was quite good actually, some great tit for tat safety. Selby won it. Didn't bother watching O'Sullivan this afternoon, felt it in my bones he was going to loose. And I agree he does look wrecked.

Have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot for Selby, the guy is a machine, bit like the terminator, just never stops coming, never gets tired, never lets the head drop and is so incredibly difficult to beat when he's ahead and in form.

He'd be Brecels worst nightmare if they meet in the final.

Could end up a record defeat if Selby plays Brecel. I would be amazed it Brecel beats Si/McGill. But Allen v Selby/Higgins is a 50/50 IMO.

Ronnie is liable to do anything....i said in one of the first few posts in this thread that he could lose in the 1st round or win the tournament....instead he loses 7 frames in a row to brecel!!

He will be back and has a good few years in him yet...he will pick up his 8th...kind of like tiger woods coming back to win the masters a few years ago....

But it really was a golden opportunity for him this year....a poor enough standard....

Yep picks up commentary radio signal. Sometimes the refs have to tell the audience members to turn down volume on ear pieces as players can hear it.

Anytime I switch on Selby at table - is Higgins playing at all? Looks like a snooker strangulation job. Selby out match playing the match player. And Hendry describing Selby as ‘relentless’

I don't know - different frames, different opponent, different days. This time yesterday posters were giving the tournament to Ronnie. A lot can happen between the ears, in a couple of hours.

he has a record that'll hardy be beaten - #think he's gotten as far as Round Two 28 times from 30 Crucible visits

reckon he wants to make it 30 - might look like a Mickey Mouse record atc , but i'd say he's thinking about it

The lack of complacency in Selby’s game is unbelievable. 10-5 and he’s playing safety shots like he’s one mistake away from being knocked out of the tournament. He really is relentless.

I more look at the shot choices, zero risk snooker with maximum benefit for him. The bit that amuses me the way Hendry describes Selby - Hendry was like that from a ruthless potting perspective from the other end of the snooker spectrum.

Selby is one of those players who's teak tough. You'd absolutely hate playing him.

Was really hoping for a Selby v O'Sullivan final.

Love the contrast in styles.

wouldn't be the first time a player standing at or near opposite end of table missed a tight clip on object ball, using the rest - with cueball in close proximity

He doesn’t look at shot choices. He mulls over the same shot for ages to annoy his opponents. It’s pure gamesmanship. It’s seriously annoying.
