Snow is slowly intensifying here in County Antrim. Surfaces becoming slushy. Hopefully will intensify more over the coming hours and begin to build up.

After three hours of sleet and ice pellets, it is snowing again in mid Clare at 150asl. A small thaw this afternoon. Air temp is 1.5c.

Quite likely was me! Wonder if there'll be a snow run in the morning, but I won't be holding my breath, five years since the last good dumping here as far as I recall? Or in March anyways

Still sleety up here in north Clare Hoping for a transition back to snow soon so if you’re seeing it there It’s a sign for hope.

Forgot to post here on Tuesday, but woke up to a right dumping of snow (SW Donegal) it was nice but short-lived.

Nothing falling here yet even though the radar says otherwise.

My weather station suggests temps finally dropping down here. Peaked at 11c but just dipped back into single figures

This is a weather forum, you are going to find people who enjoy weather in all its guises. You're not going to change anyones mind, but maybe you feel better having a rant

Do you admonish people who actively crave and enjoy heat waves. Don't you know heatwaves and warmer weather than normal lead to excess deaths. Whether people enjoy heatwaves, or enjoy snow, it makes no difference to what the weather does. Nor does it mean we wish hardship on others. I also have lived in the countryside, and have worked outside in snow, So I am well aware of its impacts.

Back to full on sideways heavy snow here just outside Ennis @ 400foot asl

If this is the start of a few hours worth there will be serious accumulation - not a whole lot melted from the ~15cm that fell until now.

Continuing to intensify here in County Antrim. Starting to lie. Still slushy but defo lying around.

UK Met Office seem to have been bang on for here with the warning only coming into effect from 3pm and heaviest snow predicted this evening and overnight.

Gorgeous photos. Are your last two photos at the Killakee lookout and the start of Old Military Road? I ventured up that far earlier (around 12.30pm) and the council had the road blocked going up Old Military Road - not that I was brave enough to go further and didn't venture down towards Cruagh either. Beautiful snowy scenes up there today.

No snow where we are yet, around 100m ASL D16, but hoping we'll wake up to some!

The snow has eased off again. It was very heavy for about 20 minutes or so. We would have a nice bit on the ground by now if this had stuck since it started early this morning.

They are now at their peak, as the system swings away SE its a different ball game on the back side of that front, in a near gale NE'r with lots of instability.

Had 2 long walks today in heavy snow showers. Is there anything better than walking along with big beefy flakes chaotically falling all around you? Mesmeric. Grounding. More please tonight. Galway West.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Indeed. I was there before the road was closed but would have avoided anyway. Cruagh was fine, no issues at all. Got a bit deep near the top of the trail.

As I type here on the east coast of Dublin, and listen to the relentless rain that hasn't stopped since last night, I'm wondering is really going to turn into snow? Is it likely to snow only from midnight onwards, as that's when the orange warning comes into effect?

First one is Killakee Road just up from Hell Fire Club. Second one is the road closure beside Killakee View Point.
