Goes without saying but Ireland need to leave here with points, this could be the momentum swing either way here.

  • My thoughts exactly, he always gets some ridiculous criticism (especially here) but it’s hard to see how that wasn’t red with the way the game is now.

This is something else,+6 at HT is pretty good, would expect the 2nd half to be a lot slower

We're playing well, but with some better decision making we'd be further ahead. We've gone tight when the wider pass would've led to a try.

What a half of rugby that was.

Easily points better than France at the interval .

Crazy game. I guess the worry from an Ireland perspective is they have played so much rugby and only have a 6 point lead.

That should tell later in terms of French fitness tbf. Would prefer the tries, but not a total loss.

I just have this sinking feeling that Dupont has won them the game with that tackle.

Hansen really should have done better. The last play of the game last week he also failed to finish. He should have scored up against Dupont there.

yeah, I feel France are lucky to be within touching distance really. They have been unreal defending on the line though to be fair

A most enjoyable first half, some serious rugby.

It will unfortunately be remembered as Barnes bottling a major decision in a major game, The most Obvious Red Card you are ever likely to see.

To be honest I’m glad Barnes bottled that decision. It means we can put them away with 15 men and there can be no doubts.

And as Jackman said there was possibly a yellow for no arms tackle on lowe when he scored. Possibly tackle in the air too.

I'm still honestly so angry here.

Great game, we're really playing top notch stuff!

I think we're going to run out easy winners here.

Need the cajones Alain Roland had in the world cup a few years back

  • Go crawl back under your rock if you want to throw around words like "corrupt" to describe a referee who made an error under pressure during a major match.

I hate ref whinging. It's every game at this stage. Even when it's not warranted.

    BUT seriously...

What a sensational 40 minutes of Rugby Union. One team are clearly better while the other have the better of them; it is impossible to call this besides saying that the winners today are as good as SN champions.

Only thing I'll say on the yellow is that Barnes seems to have been of the mindset that the tackle wasn't make with the vigour or power that he felt warrants a red card. My first instinct wasn't red but the more i saw it the oranger the card became./ How he determined what the vigour to bring it over the red line is another days debate; one thing that we can all agree on is that many other days would have seen rogúe.

But seriously though; big and all a game as McCloskey is having but Hugo!!!

    RTE coverage is absolutely pathetic!

Hugh Cahill is unbelievably biased...is he offside, is he blocked off, is he offside, is that a knock on?

What is with that camera angle in the studio? You can see Heaslips legs under the table. Heaslip is unbearable too.

Have turned over to ITV now which is annoying because I really like Donal Lenihans commentary.

Agree the use of corrupt is out of order, but he had all the time in the world. No time pressure, can rewatch it as often as he wants. Shocking decision

Samson, sorry Hansen, shouldn't have cut his hair off, he's not been the same since

Fantastic 40 minutes of rugby and the match thread is just 6 pages of people bitching about the ref.

How many French attacks have Ireland turned over stealing the ball off loose play? Great alertness.

Irish commentator shows bias towards Irish team.

    Seriously. Talk about faux outrage.

Our failure to complete tackles is absolutely perplexing.
