Instead, they are starting to adopt terms such as "mummified person" or to use the individual's name to emphasize that they were once living people.

I think that's a good idea all round, stay as far away from mummified people as possible, don't disturb them at all, just leave them alone...

Surely auditioning women for a role in Godot would be just tokenism, because there are no women in the play none would ever have a chance of getting the role.

And if there is anything worse than excluding people because of their gender/sex/etc then it's tokenism.

And can't art just be left alone.

Godot was written with an all male cast so leave it that way.

If someone wants it with a mixed cast then it's no longer "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett.

If you want Romeo and Juliet to be a love story between two men or between two women then it stops being Romeo and Juliet.

If Desdemona is black and Othello is white then it's no longer Shakespeare's Othello.

Stop trying to shoehorn modern thinking into old fiction.

Nah, you could do a homosexual version of Rmeo and Juliet (I think someone probably has?) - would be interesting twist on the story, to be fair.
