Questions were asked ,and you gave your explanation

So why not give explanations anymore? That is all anyone is asking of Conspiracy Theorists.

    Sealions?

    Oh, the gatekeepers of concensus

Yet so ineffective, if they've graduated to accepting that the world isn't flat

Because conspiracy theories don't like giving explanations.

90% of the time they can't give them because they are only repeating things from social media and haven't thought about the theory beyond that.

The other 10% of the time they understand that any explanation they attempt would sound ridiculous or false.

In both cases they don't want to simply state that they can't offer an explanation or accept that that's an issue for the theory because it ruins the fun of the conspiracy theory

So you wont answer these easy questions??

Why do you 2 tag team each other and feel it is your 'job' /mission to defend populist ideals, that YOU believe in?

Whats your problem with people just discussing theories ?

    Lol.

I don't "tag team" with anyone. I don't feel that posting here is "a job" or "a mission". I don't know what "populist ideals" you are referring to that I believe in.

I have no problem with people discussing theories. As I've explained though, conspiracy theorists aren't interested in discussing their theories.

As I said in my last post, your premise begins with false accusations.

Nobody has any issues with discussing conspiracies, that is exactly what we are trying to do. It would require the conspiracy theorists to answer questions though in order for a discussion to happen.

All we get is a vague suggestion from one side about something sinister having happened, and that they are just "asking questions" without actually specifying what they are suggesting or what their questions are.

Then the other side asks for some basic explanation of the theory, to which we are then told that we are picking on the theorists as they refuse to answer anything or even lay out in very basic terms what their theory is.

Well , maybe its your way of asking these questions you feel 'have' to be answered? 🙄

Not everything you think could be true requires a person to have a fact filled binder or folder ready to upload because the CT Gatekeepers require/demand answers .....

I think some people are a$$hat$ , but i dont have any facts to back up my gut feeling.......

And regardless of what you say/think , certain people on here are killing threads due to their constant insistence. You cant post one comment in here without being jumped on .......

    Questions like:

    "What do you believe?"

And "Why do you believe that?"

    Conversation killers those alright.

But previously you were claiming that it was "demands for proof" that were the issue. You're now changing your story because this falsehood was challenged. You might want to get your story straight before complaining.

Have you considered that maybe you conspiracy theorists shouldn't be so afraid of questions?

Nowhere. I plucked them out of my arse as a concise rhetorical point.

If you prefer, you can read my points as "The vast majority" instead of 90% and "the vast minority" instead of 10%.

Why are you asking me for "proof" of something when you previously announced that doing such a thing was unreasonable and "trolling"?

Oh I see. You were trying to give me a "taste of my own medicine."

But do you not notice how I answered your question directly, concisely and clearly? Did you not notice how easy it was?

I have no issue being asked about my points and my claims. I have no issue with answering questions. Cause that's how an actual discussion works.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,868 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

But you made up stats? You just threw numbers out there? 🤣🤣

Isnt that the Crazy Theorists modus operandi??

"do you not notice how I answered your question directly, concisely and clearly? Did you not notice how easy it was?"

But you just made up random stats to make your point?

So you can make up anything you want now, but its ok as it was "concise and clear" .... 🤣🤣🤣

"Oh I see. You were trying to give me a "taste of my own medicine."

Why did you put quotation marks around 'taste of my own medicine' ? Were you quoting someone? Or was it for DRAMATIC effect ....?

Why are you in this thread anyway? You arent a "Conspiracy Theorist" , are you? Is there no "Con Theory debunkers" thread ......??

Lol No man. I did not "make up stats". What a ridiculous thing to claim.

Making up stats would be like claiming that the vaccine isn't effective based off a misrepresentation of a study that you haven't read.

Are this increasingly inane questions another attempt at "giving me a taste of my own medicine"?

    POST 191 -

Nowhere. I plucked them out of my arse as a concise rhetorical point.

There ya go ..... :) Its there in B&W , so its not so ridiculous is it?

Or is your arse a confirmed source for CT facts and figures? (probably is ...🙄 )

My question was inane ? and then you made up stats ..... 🤣

And why are you still quoting that?? Is that a 'thing' now ??

"They have no interest in what you have to say"

That's the most true thing you've posted in this forum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,442 ✭✭✭bad2thebone

Well you're interested in responding, so you're out on your own there Shifty.

Hope you feel good after that observation. Your self awareness and peripheral awareness is very effective.

I'm still very interested in hearing how conspiracy theorists organise their belief systems for themselves. How do they justify all of the obviously dishonest tactics and arguments they use. Why they keep believing things and people that they know they shouldn't.

But I fear that such a conversation would require a conspiracy theorist to be honest and self aware.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,442 ✭✭✭bad2thebone

Here to stop the conspiracy theorists from spreading misinformation. Ones living across the pond sleeps, eats and lives in the conspiracy theory forum. Probably hooked up to all kinds of contraptions. Unable to move freely in the real world.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,868 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

    Seems that way .......

Cant understand how, if what the Followers say is true about how fc**ing mental all the tin foil wearing Theorists are , why would you spend all day everyday in here....????

I wouldnt spend any time in a thread that i had no interest in, or that i thought was pure rubbish. Id ignore it.

The first 6 replies in this thread!

Would you get away with such abuse in any other thread??

It certainly triggers some people , id say they might need some help.

Theres medication for those issues now , but it might only offer 'modest protection' ...

But the Followers would still take as many doses as they are told... Good boys. *pat on the head.

You like conspiracy stuff? Okay. I like to debunk nonsense. There's a big crossover point there.

why are all the intelligent followers so concerned about what is being said in here?

It's not all harmless "bigfoot and aliens" stuff. I've seen the damage it can do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,442 ✭✭✭bad2thebone

I wandered in here a while back, I come and go. But a few dare not post outside of the conspiracy theory forum on similar subjects in the regular board's forums. They just feel safe here. Folklore suggests we could be debating with the same member and they have multiple accounts. But that's a conspiracy. Like a sasquatch they shape shift.

But I wouldn't take anything here personal, there was a funny discussion and they came up with the sealions. Throughout board's they're know as the sealions. Most people who post here are ran out of it or banned for reacting to the one I have on ignore. Most people have him on ignore. He waits around looking for someone to undermine. A pure head the ball. His kin think he's a leg. They'd be PM ing each other about members and others too. One of them who defected told me that lol

Have you heard of sealioning ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,868 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

Okie Doke ... whatever floats your boat......

"nonsense" - You get to decide that ?

    "damage" - Really ? in A CT forum ?!?

    Ok.

But why werent the posts left up. The banned poster would see them next week, and then they could decide themselves to reply or not ??

(ive no idea what posts youve deleted)

    ---------------------------------------------------

1 point warning - Do not discuss moderator action on thread. Your posts were deleted because the poster you were trying to engage is forum banned. The poster can't reply. And coming back into a discussion that saw them banned for a week probably wouldn't be the best idea.

    Really?

Never seen the term used anywhere else online, let alone elsewhere on boards. It is only used in this forum as some kind of insult towards people questioning conspiracy theorists. But even then by the conspiracy theorists own definition of what sealioning is, it doesn't apply to what they are claiming is happening to them by the non CT'ers.

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,997 ✭✭✭Markus Antonius

You don't debunk anything. It is widely known that you abuse a recent update to the forum charter to frustrate and derail discussion about conspiracies.

You lie about enjoying conspiracies and that you are "Just asking questions", despite there being a posting history from you celebrating the shutting down of conspiracy related content on Youtube.

Thankfully, now that moderation has returned to the forum we can actually start having decent discussions and maybe the forum might just start to flourish again and be an interesting place to visit.

Are these beliefs harmful? Certain ones are.

For example, someone believes in Bigfoot, okay, it's not exactly harmful.

Unfortunately there are harmful beliefs. People harassing relatives of slain children. Historically, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Political stuff (e.g. the 2020 insurrection), medical disinformation where people avoid medical treatment and put their lives (and others) at risk.
