For the first time genuinely changed my answer at the last second, from Annie Lennox, thought it was too obvious... to Helena Christensen... f**k it anyway!

    Still good craic this though.

Had them all worked out and would have picked jairzinho. I'd be back inside the top 5 with that one :P

Music today. Band Aid have recorded one of the most iconic Christmas songs, but how much attention have you paid to the latter versions?

Question 20: name one of the artists from Band Aid 30 (2014) in the picture below

What the hell happened here?! What is it about Paloma Faith?

Plenty of good aces at the other end, this could shake the table up a bit

Very harsh on Neo, as Luke Patterson is the drummer with Clean Bandit and did play on the record, but he's not in that photo

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Shane takes the output lead, but guiri is just behind with a lifeline. Barna and BuileBeag take a tumble

(Slight error in that last table, kitten no longer has a lifeline)

    Half hour warning for @Mutleyboo

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Nice simple one for the answers...

No one went for the pipers, but everything else was picked

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Incredibly, there's a five way sheep!

Which means most people get the same score

Well done to Homer and ari for picking up a nice couple of aces

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

No change at the very top, but a climb for Barna, Homer and Soapy

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

At the bottom, we say goodbye to Strawbs who is eliminated today!

...not really, she's off to Australia so dropping out. We send her on her way with a wooden spoon, and they'll be another for whoever is bottom at the end of the game

Awwww my first present of the festive season. Only a pair of Louboutin’s will top that spoon 👠 🥄

Tricky round today, here's the answers...

    Iceland, Ireland, Canada

    New Zealand, UK

    South Africa, Mexico, Australia

The clues in the pictures were...

Iceland - the bunting is the Icelandic flat

    Ireland - pretty obvious

Canada - uses English and French

New Zealand - aside from summer beach cricket, there's a silver fern in the corner

    UK - red postbox

South Africa - tough one, but I thought guessable

Mexico - wiki says "Piñatas are commonly associated with Mexico"

Australia - yeah, this one was impossible! There is an Australian flag on one of the envelopes

I've realised that the New Zealand one may have been really mistaken for Australia, but that would have been a valid answer so you'd get away with it. Oh well...

All but one answer was given, plus a couple of extras. And just a few lifelines 🤣

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Amazingly, no one went for Ireland!

New Zealand and Australia are the joint sheep, and I think the Australia guesses were lucky not to be wrong!

Trigger picks up a lovely ace, and 9 people used their lifeline!

Heidi and Aisling slipped up though

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Most of the top of the table sheeped, but Barna moves into the joint lead while Edser, DvB and Posy all move into good positions.

guiri and DvB still have their lifelines, it really could be anyone yet...

I'll be lucky to get one 🙈

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,104 ✭✭✭✭DvB

My last answer in today, travelling tomorrow so will play my lifeline for that one.

Thanks for organising @Electric Nitwit really enjoyed this year's game.

I'm going around singing 'Green Motel Dysentery Germ' - not really but it definitely should be a song 🤣.

I love anagrams so am having a bit of fun working these ones out. Hope I don't forget to send in my 🐑 though!
