Weird thing I find now with Marvel casting is I'm actually disappointed when someone get's cast in something small as it'll mean they can't do something else bigger elsewhere.

Plaza is the type of actor that I'd have suspected really was a witch in real life, so it's good casting 🤭😄

I had forgotten Agatha was getting her own spin off. Big fat meh from me; Kathryn Hahn was a fun villain but Hahn is always fun in things. Not sure I'm interested in another watering-down of a MCU villain into an anti-hero.

She has already been part of the X-Men universe in Legion

I wonder could she play The Shadow King again in this

‘Heartstopper’ Star Joe Locke has also joined the cast. He could actually work as adult Wiccan

Disenchanted drops November 18th. Some of this was filmed in Ireland.

Some of it was filmed in Enniskerry village. You can see the centre monument at the start of the clip. I visited the village when they had the sets done up. Looked great.

Currently watching War of the Worlds at the minute with Gabriel Byrne. 4 Episodes in to Season 1. Not too bad so far.

I finished S3 of Jessica Jones, which was the last of these ex-Netflix shows I've been moving through. I would say this was the weakest of the JJ seasons. The storyline gets muddled quite a bit. Sallinger was an interesting adversary at the start but things get very silly. Trish was winding me up a lot early on and I wasn't crazy about her prominent role towards the end. I do like Jessica though and she's easy to root for. I will give them credit for:

Killing off Dororthy. I remember thinking that would be a brave move and didn't think they would actually do it. I don't feel like they made the most of it, though. It wasn't until this series I realised she was played by Rebecca De Mornay. It was great to see Luke Cage in a cameo role in the finale as well. It was a nice touch. I hope one or both of Luke and Jessica turn up in the new DD series.

On E3 of Limitless, which is the Nat Geo documentary where Chris Hemsworth explores various (rather extreme) ways to possibly increase longevity. It was while he was filming this that he discovered he has a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's on both of his parents' sides. Obviously that part will be hard to watch (if they included it) but it's very enjoyable so far, obviously helped that he's just a massively likeable guy - imo, anyway.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is tremendous fun, would recommend! Good music too.

Really nice to see more of Drax and Mantis.

Yeah, thought that was fun. Did exactly what it said on the tin. Liked the musical numbers. ( "You just GOT those instruments?")

Initially I thought "Oh my God, Groot looks cr*p. Looks like a guy in a poor Groot-suit" However my next thought was that this was intentional: Very in keeping with similar "specials" type things: Lower production standard consumes. Think "Lumpy" in the Star Wars Holiday Special. Then you saw him jumping up and down, dancing in a manner quite out of character so I am 99% certain that this was totally intentional. (Of course Groot dances but here he is basically just jumping up and down)

Thought the reveal of Mantiss being Quill's sister was thrown out quite suddenly but was fun. I'm assuming it will be woven into GoTG3 to some degree.

I liked the interaction between Mantiss and Drax. A slightly different attitude to her (Compared to her initial appearance in GoTG2). But then she has been with them a while now so it's to be expected.

Kevin Bacon was clearly having a hoot, making this. The impact of using Kevin Bacon might be slightly dulled here given his ever-present EE advertisements. However, in the US this would be great. Sort of a "Holy cr*p. Kevin Bacon! Haven't seen or thought about him in YEARS!"

Good throwaway, enjoyable fun that you will forget pretty quickly but that's exactly the way it should be.

    The Santa Clauses arriving tomorrow.

Scott Calvin is about to turn 65 and, realizing he can't be Santa forever, sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in life south of the pole. (Tim Allen reprising his role for this series)

Wonder if they'll have the new Black Panther for Christmas. Think the 45 days will be up around then, if they go by that.

I'd be surprised. Eternals came out roughly same time last year and didn't turn up on Disney until the middle of January. Now this rumour was ages ago but I believe the big Christmas project is a 4K upscale of The Muppet Christmas Carol for the 30th anniversary, including the deleted song The Love Is Gone.

    This too shall pass.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of titles being removed from Disney+ lately?

The article below mentions that over 200 titles have been removed from here in Ireland & the UK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It being reported that 25% of US subscribers will be downgrading to the ad supported version.

That’s a big number however I wonder how much Disney will be making from the ads.

I doubt it will be a lose making downgrade for Disney with the ad revenue coming in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭whatawaster81

Is that US only? I got an email recently that my renewal on 28 December is 89.90. Up on last year. I'll still pay that as I'm getting the value out if it.

The ad supported option will be available in some areas including the UK but NOT Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,094 ✭✭✭✭flazio

I heard on the radio this morning that they will be careful about what ads they will run which is good to hear. Alcohol and betting ads are out.

    This too shall pass.

There's now a "Full length version" of The Muppet Christmas Carol in the extras for the movie. It's a version with the deleted song "The Love is Gone" put back in, which was the original theatrical version I think.

    This too shall pass.
