Farmers Journal Black Friday offer.

Hi all,

Just had a Farmers Journal offer into email box....don't ever remember giving them it but anyway. Basically they are offering different deals for the year's subscription and to seal the deal their Sweetener is a pair of Dunlop Purofort wellies worth 85 euro for free.

I would only tend to buy the Journal when I know there is something of interest in it for me. Just wondering if you went for a year's subscription to it could you put it down as an expense for the taxman. Would imagine you can?.

Regarding the Dunlop Purofort Wellies.....had a pair a few years ago and found them a bit heavy to wear. What are peoples thoughts/experiences with them as a wellie?

Definite a tax expense, I do it every year but I don't do the yearly sub. Cant comment about the wellies.

I got the Wellies a few years ago, I'd say they are the same ones. Really comfortable for steel toe caps and if I I recall the back heal had protection too. Ideal if your in around cattle a they'd save the foot if walked on.

The only downer was they didn't last and eventually split on the sole but I'd say I got a year out of them

On the wellies, I wear them the only downer is stones getting stuck in the grips at the bottom, otherwise grand

I'd prefer to go barefoot than wear dunlops, I call them hip breakers for a reason, never slipped and fell so often in any other wellington.

It's delivered to your house each Thursday.....depending on how much you spend you get access to online content as well. I think I will go for it.

I used to get it and will probably sign up again tomorrow for the print and digital package. There's a lot on it but I found I just didn't think to go on it enough.

My eldest lad has got it the last couple of years, well I get it for him for Christmas. It's online on a Wednesday evening. You get a box with it with a diary, hats, bucket , magazines too.

Got it last year had to buy a tablet as I couldn't read it on the phone. I rather the paper version so I signed up to that this year. Delivered early Thursday here. I got a free jacket with it (ploughing deal), supposed to have access to the app but it doesn't seem to work since I gave up the digital sub.

They'll have another deal for Christmas too I think, maybe with something other than wellies. In the summer they do a similar deal with Tullamore Show tickets as the "free" gift
