Volvo XC40 Recharge

What's the availability like? I presume that you are looking at the single motor - Here is a review by EV Ireland if you are interested

I got an XC40 a couple of weeks ago - Is there any point in the plugsurfing account that comes with the car, the rates seem to be more expensive than eCars?

By the way if anyone has any Q's on the car, let me know happy to answer.

Test drove the XC40 single motor w/Ultimate and Polestar 2 Pilot+Plus back to back today. XC40 is better setup for me personally. this will be a 2nd car, mostly city driving so no massive range requirements.

P2 was great fun to drive but too tight with the centre consol and long legs are not a good setup for the driver - just not comfortable and rear visibility is pretty poor. XC40 was a roomier setup, decent performance w/ 415 km range WLTP and crucially just under the €60k mark to avail of €5k grant with a top spec. P2 with Pilot and Plus (most comparable spec) just tips over €60k so no €5k grant.

XC40 Lead times are into March/April now for those that are considering this EV. Pleasantly surprised with the XC40 Recharge as it wasn't on my EV radar until recently.

I got the XC40 a couple of months ago - Plus points are that it is super comfortable, nice ride, great visibility and with the ultimate spec (which is all that is available with single engine) you get all the extras like powered seats, tailgate, sunroof etc. The single engine still has plenty acceleration and it is no slouch. The negative is that the range is not as great - I'm seeing around 350km at the moment at best, but I dont do long journeys very often so i can deal with that.

The twin motor has a slightly bigger battery AFAIK, as it is less efficient than the single motor, so they end up with more or less the same range.

Can't understand that with Polestar.

Think it's only a few hundred euro over the €60k. Surely they'd knock that off?!

Surely the dealer could work some magic with the invoice if it’s just a few hundred quid

I see that they are basing this off of 16.9 to 17.9 kWh/100km - I wonder how they are achieving that, in real world with the XC40 I see 20 to 23 over extended driving.

Congrats. Were you offered any discounts by dealer. Folks in UK are being offered 10%. I have been offered 1k.

I got 1K off last Sep when I bought - however I see now on the website that the XC40 ultimate single motor is at €65K and the Plus is at €61K as they have changed to RWD for the single motor with claimed extended range.

Not sure what Volvo are doing with the existing stock of single motors and if you are saying you got offered 1K is that on the new model or not?
