If you are buying from chrono24 and the seller is in Europe then there are no import fees , not sure what they currently go for but I wouldn’t pay that kind of a premium for a gmt. He is a very trustworthy seller though if it’s value to you.

@FocusST if that was a watch I wanted I would locate one in Europe online via chrono24 or bricks and mortar in the U.K. and fly over for it and save a nice few quid

Haven't researched this particular Rolex as I have no interest in it, but iChrono is nearly always asking for top end prices for Rolex. With little to no room for negotiation. He has gotten away with that over the years as the market was going up, so he "priced it for next year"

Not so sure if he is getting away with it still

That said, there are very few Rolex grey market dealers in Ireland and most of them are expensive (compared to same in the UK or the continent) and there still seems to be plenty of money around. You pay a few grand extra for the convenience and the come back. Personally I'd rather fly out to collect a watch or buy privately (be very careful there though!) to save a few grand.

Bit of late-night dreaming! Think I'll hold off till Jan / Feb - can't see much chance of an increase at the moment.

I'd pay a small premium to buy from someone trusted given the quality of replica GMTs and Submariners.

in the meantime you could always put your name down for one in weirs or keanes etc.. might never show up but no harm to show interest.. ive my name down for a gmt in weirs.. and i checked a few weeks ago and i'm 'on the list' whatever that means.. if it shows up in 3 to 5 years id be happy enough.. id rather wait and pay 10k for one at retail than pay double for one grey... i don't mind paying slightly over for something but twice the price of retail would put me off.

Im waiting to buy one of these.Ive decided if they get to €15k I'll buy one but only if I feel the reduction is due to less buyers being available as opposed to more availability from ADs. I was told two watches Im waiting for will be available to me in the next 6 months so availability is obviously improving.

I assume getting towards the top of the list involves buying a watch or so a year at list which is going to be 4-6K at least premium on the grey market.

Becomes quite marginal then, especially when you consider there is zero guarantee of getting to the top of the list.

Lovely watch. The Squales punch well above their weight in my experience. I had a beautiful 60 atmos Squalematic but sold a few years ago, it had unfair competition in the form of a Rolex costing 20 times as much, so it didn't get much wrist time

    Hi all

as mentioned in a previous post. I was purchasing a Timex Pan Am day / date

Strangely, the vendor sent me the chronograph version. I can send it back but thought someone on here might take a punt.

It’s unused, has everything. Am looking for what I paid for it, €219 ( this is cheap for chrono as Timex are selling it for €240 but its out of stock)

So as an update , I had sold this to forum member @rx8

He noticed the chronograph was not functioning properly. It does work but not as efficiently and effectively as one would expect.

I am returning it to vendor , I should have tested it before hand, but it was brand new and I assumed it was ok.

so apologies to Martin for wasting his time.

No worries,Sir... it's a pity though, as it's a lovely watch. Hopefully you'll get a full refund aswell.

Hi all, new here as I was advised to ask here first. I have had an Omega watch for a number of years which I haven’t worn at all and am considering selling it, I have no idea what to ask for it so was looking for advice on this? There is none on Chrono to see and the Googling I have done has huge disparity between asking prices.

Watch link is below and there is a picture of the actual watch, it’s in very good condition due to lack of use, I have all paperwork and receipts. I stupidly left the original box with the shop as I got it in Switzerland and hadn’t much room, i have it in an aftermarket Omega box now. Thanks 🙏🏻

@nod2022 That's a nice piece, and bit different.

A very cursory search of Chrono24.com suggest that EU region full set versions (watch, box, original strap, and receipt, etc) are fetching around three and half.

Now, Chrono24 usually has a bit of a premium, but you would be looking at 3k plus, anyways. There's one with no box or papers at all that's under 2,800.

Should give you a ball park. But with such a distinctive piece, you'd be as well to look for a large selling forum, like Chrono24 or similar. It would be hard to get a market here, IMHO.

Thanks very much, I’ll check that out. I’ll put it up on adverts as I have an account and try my luck there also.

    Thanks again, very helpful. 🙏🏻

Just a warning, if you are not used to adverts expect offers around 500 euro and swap for half eaten marsbar and PS3 controller. The assumption is that you need to sell everything you own to pay for a new kidney and will accept any offer. That watch is sub 2k private I feel.

No watches seem to be selling on adverts at the moment. The usual watch sellers have the same stuff sitting there for months .Even my own cheap and cheerful few watches that I have up have got little to no interest and the under €500 watches used to fly out on adverts .Sign of the current watch market I suppose

This time of year is never great for pre owned watches, people get carried away with Christmas

The RM seller is also flogging a nice Hermès handbag, but you can’t pay by card because they’re a single mother who can’t take risks!

Was just about to say the same. My Steinhart GMT hasn't had a nibble. Just reduced to €400. They use to get snapped up 2nd hand for €450-480.

Surely the seller is the same person. 2 x 100k watches in Antrim an hour apart?
