Would certainly be handy alright I’d imagine a good few of us will end up doing the fitness test’s together. I’m useless at this groups stuff though

In a way. They will try to trip you up on purpose. Dont mind it, they are trying to see how you do with a difficult question/under pressure.

The pass/fail is on your competencies which you will have will practiced a thousand times before the interview

I know lad who did the interview in Irish in the last recruitment drive and he failed it and they let him resit it in English. He is now stationed in Ennis. I’m not sure if this is still the case or not.

Saw on the news the mandatory drug testing for all new recruits will begin before the end of 2022 ,so I assume the next round of people to do fitness /medical will do this testing. :P

When they’re looking for your ID and proof of qualifications is it satisfactory to send a copy of your degree? So the actual degree sheet of paper you receive on your graduation day?

Some batch 1s have already been medically cleared and have been approached to book meetings with local supers. We're assuming these have also had their vetting completed. The last news was that batch 1 intake will now be the end of November.

Hmm. Batch 2 were told that our start date could be the end of November. Wonder if they've just moved everything back a month and we'll start late Dec/Early Jan or whether they've merged the 2 batches and we'll all start in late November

Correct me if I’m wrong but I assume if you pass your fitness test and medical then you’re in?? Or is there a further stage you do after that??

After you pass fitness/medical, you just wait until your vetting is cleared. Note that vetting could take a long time, depending on circumstances in your vetting

@macmathuna1 did you get the email confirming receipt of the ID and results straight away or did it take a while?

I sent mine last night and no email yet. I’m assuming it’s not an automatic email and someone actually has to read it and send a reply.

No, its not an automatic email. Like you said, someone will check your stuff and email you. I sent mine on a Friday evening last time and it wasn’t until the following Monday around 2-3pm that I got the confirmation email. If you have doubts just give them a ring
