Is it because the Swedes have just become massive racists randomly in the last few years?

Or perhaps just as a logical reaction to being at the coalface of the multiculturalism experiment for a decent amount of time?

Well this will be interesting to watch. The problem people are faced with is voting Right even when they are not due to Government failures and not protecting its citizens. I was amused seeing Liberals on the list as right wing. See either with us or against us.

It's just a natural response to years of failed left-wing policies. Not unlike Tump in the US etc. Ultimately, courtesy of (anti-)social media, the centre/moderate voices are getting drowned out in favour of far-left/right.

This is why it's important to not give people a choice when it comes to immigration. They will ultimately vote against it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

Well not really. If you said Immigration with proper checks visas point system actually need for the skills most people will be fine.

Far right is going to sweep across Europe, not here though, we seem to be very far left…. For the moment. It’s pretty easy to understand really, when people see their standards of living dropping. Even Brexit was really of the right sided school of thought, protectionism, and drive out Johnny Foreigner.

I think the War in Ukraine is also hardening peoples opinion Some countries responses were terrible. OFC Russia will be Defeated but an enemy at the gates kind of focuses minds. I think it's the last straw the war. Governments to focused on Issues most people don't even think about in a serious way. The Green push has not helped. Pie in the sky with no solutions. Mixed messaging like reduce consumption and open the doors to everyone. The pendulum inevitably swings the opposite direction. Simple stuff like you said standards of living what hits you in the pocket. I don't think it's General Johnny Foreigner it's more like welfare tourists. People actually takeing the P*ss. One thing that is badly needed in the EU is stop funding NGO's were paying them to say were terrible. And if their cause gets fixed their out of a job so not in the interest of fixing it just talking about it. Imagine Refugee NGO's and alike actually spent the money in the countries affected making it better for them at home. It's a mad Idea alright...

Sweden is lost. So is Western Europe. You can't just try multiculturalism and then decide you want to go back on it because it's not working out. It's a process that cannot and will not reverse. It only ever goes one way.

There is hope for Eastern Europe. Orban is against multiculturalism. However look at the vilification he has received because of that. The facist European Union are doing their best to make sure there isn't a single corner of Europe not enriched.

We most definitely need a lurch to the right here at home of some sort to steady the ship. It will happen eventually anyway in years to come when people finally see laid bare in front of them the damage the multicultural project has done to the island but it may well be too late by then.

Unfortunately just like Sweden we will suffer first.

What will RTE interviewees do, now that Sweden has elected a right wing government. Their default setting when criticising Irish deficiencies was refer to how things were done so brilliantly in the 'Scandinavian model'.

Italian election law, quite bizarrely, rewards broad alliances and they've exploited that - a reminder of how much more united right-wing politics can be. Italian governments come and go very swiftly but it would be interesting to see a female PM.

On the OP, Sweden's lurch seems to be more about gang killings.

    "Left-wing"

She was a standard centre-right European.

The only right-wing entity here, by European standards, are the National Party and the vast majority have never heard of them. We do look to be flirting with the left though, according to opinion polls.

no we are a different kind of stupid. slavish obedience of whatever we are told by media political elite types - the last 2 years is evidence of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭batman_oh

I wouldn't say the Swedish are stupid for this - more desperate as the idiots in charge have turned areas of the country into absolute slums and it now has some of the highest levels of crime in Europe with rapidly rising gang violence, gun violence, sexual assaults etc. But yeah, it's the normal people that are stupid.

Sweden haven't elected a right wing government.

No government has been formed yet.

It will be fascinating to watch though if they will and can and with whom. The horse trading will be epic. None of it good for stable governance though. .7% in it.

For the record Sweden has had governments of the right in the not too distant past.

The right, far right and liberals had a pre election pact, to unite to defeat the incumbents.

Multo autem ad rem magis pertinet quallis tibi vide aris quam allis

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,494 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

Have they? I read differently this morning.

There is no formal agreement between the SD and the Moderates, Christian Democrats and Liberals about how they will govern together, although the centre-right parties have said they will not countenance ministerial positions for the far right.

Have you a link to that?

A colossal failure in policy by the Swedish incumbents over the last 2 decades, has contributed directly to this.

Gun violence in Sweden compared to Norway, Denmark or Finland is a very telling statistic. They are no longer the progressive utopia of Scandinavia, but a place mired by immigrant-ghettos and criminal gangs. Bad immigration policy has led them here.

Not going to happen for a long time, if ever. The right wing parties in this country are laughably bad, there's no way the likes of Justin Barrett et al would be able to lead a party to be in any ways significant on a national scale.

Maybe if the general population's outlook were to swing considerably to the right then FF and FG may change their messaging to pander to this, but that's a big if.

I genuinely can’t tell the difference between right and left anymore, it’s the ‘woke’ left who are the ones who are against free speech and pro censorship, anyone who dares disagree with them is shouted down in an aggressive and obnoxious manner and branded a far right Trump loving racist which of course is a tactic to shut you up and prevent any debate whatsoever.

I know a LOT of these lefties and they scare me!

The ‘left’ used to be ones who organized anti war marches but now WW 3 can’t come quick enough!

All the right wing fanboi's on here thinking Sweden will become their spiritual white homeland. This is Ulf Kristersson, the man who leads the largest party in the new government coalition and who will most likely be the next Swedish PM. Seen here with two of his three adopted Chinese children at a pride parade.

Bloody Swedes can't even get fascism right!
