Yes. It records it in the trio section.

I don’t actively track the spends but the app does once you set it up.

Id say if you needed it you can install a kWh meter online to your charger or some chargers like the wallbox have it built in.

Note in app is only 31 days history, id be interested if someone knows how to get the lifetime breakdown.

Something like this? It is an app called Scan my Tesla but you need an adaptor to allow the ODB2 connector.

sort of achievable in the car as well by not resetting one trip counter. I renamed the last one "Do not reset".

Ya I did the "Do not reset" thing already. Yeap that's what I was after the lifetime mix of AC/DC etc.

Might put the dongle in the new car, fresh start!

With the latest system update which seems to be making a balls of using AP at night with full beams....what is the general thoughts on upgrading? Are people holding off on installing this, in the hope that Tesla will roll this back in the coming weeks? Cos if they don't roll back, are you not then missing out on other updates and how long would you see yourself holding out?

Collecting a new M3 tomorrow and want to see what people's thoughts are on this. TBH, I don't think I'll hold off on installing this, as I wouldn't be comfortable in using AP at night anyway

    just install

If you have not collected yet, there's a high probability that the car will already have the latest version of software installed.

It's not a big deal. AP works fine. I did 500km in my new model 3 over the weekend including some motorway night AP. To disable auto high beams you just push the light stalk forward. You have to do this now each time you enable AP. Much ado about nothing IMO

Possible yours is already with the 2022.24.x installed.

Excellent news! Looks like Teslabjorn may have been overreacting slightly (or Tesla changed the behaviour of the high beams since his video).

Yes. and for clarity it is not like the auto wipers which cannot be turned off of Auto if AP is enabled.

The only annoying part about this new AP version is that the follow distance is restricted to 2, which is too long for motorway. Also if you have AP enabled and floor it to pass someone, once you go above 140 it's disabled for the rest of that trip. Full on disabled too with flashing hazards activated.

There seem to be some teething problems but nothing dramatic.

What are the 1st impressions on the Model 3 over your previous S and X regarding noise, ride, handling, and performance now that you have had a weekend of driving behind you ELM?

My experience is that yes u can disable the auto high beam by pushing the stalk forward but it keeps defaulting back a few seconds later. Others are saying the same. Very strange that yours is acting different. What software version you on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,197 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

It only comes back on when you enable AP again.

    Software 2022.24.5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,580 ✭✭✭eagerv

Mine seems to be operating same as yours, but haven't used AP much as yet at night. I am on 2022.24.6.

Wipers don't worry me. Yes you cannot turn off when on AP, but you can change speed of wipe and old fashioned intermittent(1) is nearly better in drizzly weather than auto.

Really depends on one's own driving habits. I estimate I did 30,000km on the motorways in last 12 months, of which a third was in the dark. AP is by far the best feature in the M3 for me as it really takes the fatigue out of driving long distances.

I dread the thought of p!ssing off oncoming traffic and drivers in front everytime I turn on AP so wont be upgrading for the time being.

Turn on AP and literally push the stalk forward once? Is that such an ask?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,291 ✭✭✭mackerski

You'll need to do it again after every lane change. Not great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,197 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

    Or.. pay for EAP?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,235 ✭✭✭wassie

Bit annoying when we didnt have to do this previouly and I use this feature a lot - but I can live with that if needed.

What I am concerned about is a short high beam flash when engaging AP before turning it off. I rarely use highbeams on motorways as Im typically driving early evening and there is always traffic about.

Does highbeam come on straight away or is there a delay before high beam is engaged to prevent a flash?

@mc2022B2TF also commented earlier that highbeam comes back on after a short period? If so this is actually hazardous.

    This 1,000%

I did a 700km drive through France/Belgium a few weeks ago, and the next day another 600km through Holland/Germany.. and the same return trip a few weeks later, and was as fresh as a daisy at the end of each drive.... Did a few similar 600+ km daily drives in Ireland too and felt grand afterwards...

AP makes it so so so much easier...

I've done 3-400km drives before in my 3 Series and felt destroyed afterwards.... like I was drunk/high/hungover..... I've never once had that feeling getting out of the Model 3 after a long distance drive...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,197 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

It does not come back on. You push the stalk forward and it stays off.

It will only come back on if you re-engage AP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 435 ✭✭mc2022B2TF

if thats the case then we can live with it - for me it came on again but let me try again later tonight

    thank you

The issue with autopilot and the high beams is no problem at all, just have to go back to manual dimming/highbeam which I use anyway as the auto lights are rubbish.

As for the auto wipers, I can say this is the dumbest system on the planet, my old ioniq nailed the auto wipers every time, never had to go near it. Tesla vision my a**e, I think I'm going to have to bring the car to Specsavers for a service!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,263 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

OK, now that we've agreed that 2022.whatever doesn't completely destroy the AP feature, can anyone advise if it fixes that annoying alarm issue?

Only happens on my driveway (when Sentry is not active), and usually happens at least once every 2-3 days!!

The wipers are really allergic to any smearing by, for example, polishing the screen or poor wiper blades. It also sometimes gets confused by sun behind the trees. It also always wipes one or two times after the job is done. When the car was new Tesla had polished the glass and it took some weeks for the wipers to start to behave themselves. Also I used car wax on the glass this summer and the same thing happened again but fixed itself after a few weeks.

Nissan's system was more reliable in comparison although it was also affected by poor blade condition. Once you keep the glass and blades in good shape it's ok but great. And don't coat the glass with anything based on my experience.

Hasn't happened to me since upgrading, but have only tried twice since.

I really need to test this on my EAP equipped car. Has anyone else with EAP tried it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,580 ✭✭✭eagerv

Never as yet had that alarm issue, I feel as though I am missing something.☺️. Perhaps it's not an issue on new models?

It was across all models. It was a software bug in the previous software version.
