Quickly scanning the Temperance wiki page it overlapped with various women's movements back then, the goal of the Temperance movement was women trying to control men's behaviour so you have your nascent feminists right there. The only difference today is people arent compelled to follow social norms. Wokies tend to be made of people with personality disorders and mental issues , they would have existed back then too.
