    Great if the OP buys a house but what if they keep renting and the next possible LL searches the RTB site for their name (and they will). Suddenly they won't be able to rent a place, even if they win the case.

    If you can swallow the increase, don't want to move, and there may be a chance the landlord will avoid increasing the rent for another few years, then I would ask him to send you the rent increase notification in a letter, so you have it on file and go from there. If he tries to increase the rent next by a similar amount, it will be easier to tell him where to go!

    Is it still possible to search for someone on the RTP site? Seem to have removed all the dispute details some time in the past.
