Should be with you soon, it's pouring further south and banging away. I hope it makes it up to me 🙏 Met Office seemed to have it moving east fairly quickly...

    Beach clearing rapidly!

Was outside and nearly jumped out of my skin there a few moments ago. Very throaty noises to the south. Dublin looks to be in the firing line, cannot wait!

Lots of amendments and corrections to the aviation TAFs. ME clearly caught on the hop and in fairness, I think all the models really underplayed this too?

Thunder overhead now in Greystones. All seems to be elevated.

An absolute waste, better in nighttime due to elevated nature

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭esposito

Flash and a loud clap of thunder here now 😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Agreed @pad199207 - these elevated storms all seem to be morning time along with home-grown storms which seem to be afternoon-evening.

We haven't had night time storms in a good few years now. Pity, love a good spectacle of a night time TStorm.

Thunder hitting Cherrywood BIG TIME at the moment, just awaiting the rain as it is almost certainly going to arrive now

Fantastic noises here, love it! Rain has arrived too, garden badly needs it. Perfect end to the warm snap.

Has passed Greystones now. All heading for Dublin. Just a couple of minutes of rain.

It's too late for the capital, save yourselves

Small rumbles right now over Dublin 4 (Serpentine Ave). Feels like something is building overhead.

Frequent thunder in Terenure now, and it's getting louder. It's kind of raining too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

It's moving through fair fast indeed.

Looks like something homegrown building south Limerick? Possibly the cooler air coming into play now?

Forks of lightning and the air thick with petrichor - love it

In the west of the city (Inchicore), there's a good bit of rumbling but high based stuff or way off to the east and nothing loud, probably Dublin Bay or so. I would imagine locations right along the seaboard are having louder thunder.
