Irish Blame Culture

Fecking first replies. You know its your fault now. This is going to turn into a mess ALL because of you.

So blaming the foreigners. Typically irish.

In other countries there is accountability... people resign or are sacked for "phuck ups"... here we have to raise an angry mob and still they often brazen it out. Look at Dublin Airport.

The CEO of DAA is already stepping down. What else do you want him to do? Put him in the stocks and throw turnips at him?

I blame your parents.

No you never blame yourself. If you can't blame someone else you come up with some weasel words like "We all partied" !

Sigh. I do as well.

Severe shortfalls in responsibility and accountability are two things that drive ‘blame’ culture.

It started to explode as soon as people realised they could sue for inane or self inflicted reasons and get a hefty pay day out of it. Always someone else's fault.

well i mean, when something goes wrong there is usually someone at fault. nowt wrong with pointing that out IMO.

It's rare in western culture these days for someone to do the honorable thing, hold up their hands and/or fall on their sword, it's all about trying to squirm out of responsibility by any means; hiding, deflection, lies, distraction, whatever. Classic trump and boris playbook.

Personal responsibility doesn’t exist in Ireland.

Its all the governments fault how peoples lives end up.

They are in part, a large part.

maybe ask anyone on a hospital waiting list… trying to get well.

or

a person out of college with a good degree they worked hard for, and now trying to get a job and earn money commensurate to their skills, talent, interests and education but ohhh, the influx, driving down wages and taking up opportunity left right and centre.

So decisions governments make impact the wellbeing of citizens, their ability to be happy.

But wages for graduates are not being driven down.

There is a huge shortage of jobs on the IT sector and even entry level money is very good.

Where exactly is the influx driving down wages for people with good degrees?

The IT sector isn’t representative of a whole employment market.

Research shows wages across most industries are down or stagnant, supply vs demand

They didn't cause the crash but having a system where the bank regulators were friends with bank CEOs didn't help. Its the governments job to actually deal with things like the housing crisis and if they continue to struggle to find a solution then they are to blame. There is always someone to blame and we need to blame actual people more.
