It's good to see Panti Bliss getting pulled up on his fantasy for a change. His entire persona is based on a level of childish misogyny. He's a gay man who dresses garishly as a woman for an act and calls himself after a pair of knickers.

For some deluded reason he thinks this qualifies him to tell women how to feel about trans issues.

It's bizarre that you're condemning people on this thread for creating "unnecessary fear about trans people". We're not.

But many women might be fearful of the community development officer of TENI (Transgender Equality Network of Ireland); who is on record as saying, as a direct consequence of what happened with Liveline, that some women should be "smashed out of existence".

"Unnecessary fear" has been created, just not by our side of the argument.

I keep bringing up a couple of other examples. People saying it was "homophobic" to focus on gay men for awareness of Monkeypox. A few years ago there was a jump in HIV and the usual creeps and weirdoes started with "We need to educate our kids, we're failing them". But the majority of cases were previously diagnosed elsewhere in newly landed immigrants and other cases were flat or falling (aside from needles sharing IIRC). So yeah, not sure how education would help. Same nonsense after that scumbag killed Aisling, we need to teach boys from a young age that violence against women is wrong. Okay.. I would have thought unprovoked violence anyone is wrong but anyway, I'm not sure what difference that would have made unless we're going to be investing in other country's education systems. Some scumbag beheads 2 men in Sligo and OMG Irish society is so homophobic and we... he was foreign? ****, maybe we can argue his background is irrelevant and he was turned into a murderer by Ireland's attitudes to homosexuality?

My own image of a trans man is with a 6am shodow after a heavy night, carrying the stilleto that was giving grief appearing slightly psychotic in the absolute throes.

I struggled to hail a taxi n all

Just Like the president, years of unconditional adoration by media will make someone believe that they can say anything without fear of contradiction, " Panti Bliss " is a media darling

You'd have gotten away with that (and you have gotten away with that kind of ****) up until the this week.

I think this week has been a watershed moment when normal, rational people have realised that enough is enough.

There's no fear about trans people. There is a realisation that there is no rational argument to accept that a man can be a woman or a woman can be a man.

What sparked this? The fact that the advocates pushed too far.

When a national broadcaster allowed a debate where both sides were represented what happened?

You mad fuckers realised you couldn't put your side across without tying yourselves in knots and conflating gender and sex and denying reality.

Then when you realised what a hole you dug yourselves, you turned aggressive and tried to label everyone a phobe (as per usual).

The genie is out of the bottle. You and people like you have done nothing except hurt trans people who just wanted to exist.

Anyone who supports anything Rory/Panti said this week should be ashamed of themselves.

I suppose the best thing you can do is "identify" that the mask didn't slip. Let's see where that gets you.

    Lol.

Males. Biologically male people. Adult males are called men.

    Trans women are biological males.

Genesis 1:26 “then God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens”

-basically thought I was gods gift and I’d score some hot lezzers.

Why I am not surprised that you end with transphobic insults

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I just think it's questionable that you reference the fear you believe another poster is causing, but appear to have no criticism for the TENI staff member who said that some women needed to be "smashed out of existence" after what transpired on LiveLine.

Ah OK so there was no fearmongering even though the person I quoted said trans people should be feared 😐

As far as I'm aware, he said that trans people who go about their daily lives are not to be feared, but that the core of trans activists who are leading the campaign are the ones that are causing immense difficulties - not only for non-LGBT people, but also those trans- people who want no part of this kind of battle that's fought in their name.

On that, I think this fundamental point is a legitimate one.

Many trans- people, for example, such as Blaire White and Rose of Dawn, agree with our side of the argument. So when you misleadingly frame the debate as "all trans-" versus everyone else, people are right to call this out. It's too simplistic a narrative, and it's wrong. Many trans- people disagree with you.

But even if your contention was right, I'm still concerned that you appear to have no opinion on what the TENI staff member said. Do you agree with what they said, or do you think they should apologise and resign?

So you think someone threatening to bash people out of existence shouldn't be feared?

    Interesting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,742 ✭✭✭Princess Calla

No she said "those who transition on their own terms are not to be feared"

In other words those who legitimately believe they are the opposite gender and go off and get gender realignment surgery ,hormones etc and just get on with their lives.

They are in complete contrast to the hate spewing "women should be smashed out of existence" brigade who identify as a woman but have done feck all about it bar heels, lippy and a dress and an absolute massive soapbox.

The colours on the left of your avy represents black and brown people yeah? But who decided that those groups of people should be classified as LGBT members. It would appear thst the movement gobbled up entire ethnic groups because it fights for dominance now and not equality 🤷‍♂️

Just had a nose at Twitter.

Christ, this must be what the Papal Schism of 1378 would have looked like if they had social media back then.

    Ah OK

So now supposedly there's legitimate trans people and illegitimate trans people 😅

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? You freely label people transphobe, TERF and homophobic simply because they have an opinion. That's called wokeism and its exactly what you and others are doing right now

You seem incapable of answering people's legitimate questions.

Instead, we get these - perhaps deliberate? - misrepresentations, distortions, and distractions.

What's your opinion on that TENI tweet? Any decent trans person would be appalled by that. Or maybe it's normalised thought within the community and if a person said the same thing about a race ye wouldn't care either?

We can all play the new game Rory created, yay.
