The poster claimed ‘one side’ is causing the trouble. I responded to that claim.

Bring that up with the poster I was responding to.

You were posting on this thread recently about users yesterday posting jokes about blacks and peados or some nonsense . What has that to do with this thread?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,453 ✭✭✭sam t smith

I was pointing out the hypocrisy of one of the posters expressing faux outrage.

So Kingsmills and Enniskillen and La Mon and Warrington and the Shankill Road and Bloody Friday and Claudy and making a human bomb out of Patsy Gillespie apparently weren't "extremist".

Imagine if somebody listed a load of Loyalist atrocities and tried to claim they weren't extremist.

    Imagine the reaction.

The Loyalists give the exact same justification for their murders - "the only option".

    Utter bollocks.

The twisted, sick logic of them, and of you.

They've obviously sang the song before so this is just a typical non-apology that cowards make when caught rotten, not even worth entertaining it.

No senior OO members in attendance that could have stepped in? The fact is that the sentiment expressed in the song is a view that's widely held behind closed doors in the OO.

Both the IRA and Loyalist carried out extremist acts in the conflict/war as do any side in a war/conflict the world over. That is the tragedy of them.

SF haven't an extremist policy of any kind now, 25 years since the agreement to end the conflict/war.

Loyalism does speak in extremist terms...just listen to some of them.

Any main party in this state could be portrayed as extremist if you want to go back far enough.

Some pretty desperate deflection from actions of unionists, par the course for free state discourse really

A thread about orangemen singing songs celebrating a murder of a NI catholic teacher, not even troubles related murder, and your using this oppurtunity to blame republicans, who have sum total of zero to do with this....

but keep up this deflection, when you find yourself deflecting something even the tuv will critise,it may be time to get some fresh air

You might want to spend the weekend brushing up on Ian Paisley, Peter Robinson and their ilk, you’ll discover how many innocent people were murdered on the back of their speeches and rhetoric. Come back then restate your position.

Anyone have a link for the video?

Wait until ya hear some of their other songs, such as 'the famine song',or the timeless classic 'the billy boys' featuring such aspirations as being upto their knees in fenian blood

Noone should be overly suprised by this, theres a reason people object to em marching outside their homes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,046 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

So many people responding to the troll.

Anybody from the north knows exactly what the orange order is and so won't be one bit surprised by any of this. Their only regret is that it went viral, no doubt they will be more careful going forward.

Sinn Fein continue to glorify those who murdered during the Troubles.

Sinn Fein continue to play dumb about their knowledge of what happened in notorious post-Troubles crimes such as the murders of Robert McCartney and Paul Quinn and the Northern Bank robbery.

Sinn Fein continue to fail female victims of sexual violence at the hands of the IRA. They and their supporters treat them as a pesky inconvenience. A bit like Michaela McAreavey's murderer treated her.

Sinn Fein now threatens the freedom of the press in this state through the use of frivolous lawsuits. These are designed squarely to silence the press. That's a technique they've copied from the likes of Arron Banks. It's Viktor Orban stuff.

Sinn Fein continues to treat the public like idiots by peddling a bunch of Trump style easy answers. Polltics by soundbyte, not policy. It is not a serious political party.

Sinn Fein continues to agitate for a border poll it knows it hasn't a hope of winning, a border poll which will hasten a return to violence. The DUP and Loyalists are pure extremists as they've shown yet again over the protocol.

Sinn Fein are no different and Republicans in a wider sense are certainly no different as we saw when Lyra McKee was murdered.

Go back to the video. What was chanted about the McAreaveys was abhorrent. Other stuff Loyalists chant is abhorrent. And extremists on the other side sing similar stuff about "themmuns" all the time as well.

NI should ditch SF and the DUP. The SDLP, Alliance, Greens, moderate Unionists, these are the only people working towards constructive politics up there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

I know all about them. Your problem is that people like you simply cannot conceive of anybody who despises "their" extremists and despises "our" extremists.

To the likes of you and others here, if you're against SF and the IRA, that somehow automatically makes you a DUP supporter.

Develop your brain into something other than something which runs according to dumb binary code.

And to think, I got thread banned for one post about Biden in the Trump thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,587 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

The PSNI know what happened to Paul Quinn and Robert McCartney in graphic detail and they know who was responsibe - how could they say the IRA was not involved if they didn't?

The rest of your stuff is the usual nonsense. SF make no secret of their desire for a UI and the GFA legitimises that if you hadn't noticed. Is it extremist?

You end with the usual patronising 'I know better than you and you should vote for who I say' bull, that we are used to on here.

The thread is about sectarian chanting not your boogeymen and women.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,954 ✭✭✭Feisar

In fairness SF et al. don't need an extremist policy at the moment. Just sit back and watch them 'uns implode. (Although, rightly or wrongly, is it extremist to fight back with bomb and bullet when one is being burned out of one's home?)

First they came for the socialists...

My first reaction earlier was "I bet it's not even funny". I looked it up and yeah, there isn't even an attempt at a joke in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

The Orangemen who sung that song are scumbags.

The point is that posters here are trying to paint them as some unique evil when the other extreme is just as bad about singing sick, twisted songs.

The point was made by another poster that Republicans were actually delighted this video emerged because that's what they're most interested in - painting the other side as a uniquely depraved evil.

But this stuff cuts both ways.

Two sides of the same coin.

Wait until you see, these guys will have pics of her on bonfires in defiance of decency.

If this cuts both ways, show an example of a ordinary catholic crowd singing, celebrating murder of an innocent protestant.....i know of two other songs doing rounds about murdered catholics, not related to troubles

Its easy enough to wash your hands and sneer looking in,and proclaim, they all the same.....when its increasingly evident its simply not the case....looks to me,your deflecting to nonsense,to try defend unionism and attempting (poorly) to smear those who have zero to do with this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

Ah yeah, blame the PSNI. Everybody knows it was the IRA who carried out those crimes and SF have been ultra-defensive and evasive ever since both of them, and the Northern Bank robbery.

And anybody who ever raises these crimes is accused of being a conspiracist by SF bots.

SF have some neck to bring up anything that ever happened in the past as regards any other political party when they stonewall on the literal skeletons in their own closet.

There isn't a hope of a border poll being passed in the near to medium term.

SF know this full well. Everybody knows it. And SF only want trouble by constantly agitating for one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,822 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

Exactly. This guy is a low life bollix who has deliberately tried to derail a thread about the orangemen who engaged in this chanting and singing. I'm beginning to wonder if he once worked in the Sindo and was fond of using twitter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,587 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Well, tough luck for you. 'Everybody' does not include the PSNI, Gardai and the body they advised, the IMC, who say the IRA was not involved.

Go start a thread on it. It has zero to do with this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

    The Lord Mountbatten chant.

The "I hope you die your sleep Nacho Novo" one, a Rangers player so clearly identified with "their side".

"England you're a monster" in Roll Of Honour.

"And the natural gas will burn your ass, and blow you all to hell" in Rock On Rockall by The Wolfe Tones.

When Sinn Fein's Barry McElduff posed with a loaf of Kingsmills bread he knew exactly what he was doing and received wide apologism from the online Republican community before bowing to the inevitable and resigning.

Any number of pro-IRA songs are as toxic as the other sides' shlt.

So thats no actual video, nor evidence of a ordinary group of catholics singing songs celebrating murder of any innocent protestant

    Glad we cleared this up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,822 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

Grow up! You're acting like the pro Russian apologists who also say of the war in Ukraine that there are two sides involved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

You're spectacularly naive or more likely have a neck like a jockey's bollocks if you believe the South Armagh Ra didn't murder Paul Quinn. Quinn didn't answer to the local Ra and that's why he was murdered. SF people are clearly of the opinion that because Quinn wasn't such a nice person that he deserved to be tortured to death.

    No he didn't.

Your glib reaction here to a litany of **** from "our side" shows you are no better than any moron from the "other side" who would defend those who sang about the McAreaveys.
