After its unexpected appearance and subsequent disappearance a few weeks ago, it looks like Together Together is back, and properly. Will make sure to get it watched in the next day or so, just in case

I finally started watching Love, Death, Robots. Just three episodes and it's interesting. Impossible to know how to consider an anthology series as so far the stories have been completely all over the place WRT tone, aesthetic, genre etc. So far the stories have been very fatalistic so maybe that's the overriding tone - but then it's all via David Fincher so not someone known for being warm and cuddly.

Each story is only 10 minutes long so very much bite sized entertainment. The 3 Robots are great though, so far the only idea I'd be happy to watch a whole series of.

I hadn't realised Netflix were borrowing money for those big ticket films like The Irishman. Lordy but modern capitalism is sorta insane. Infinite growth!

Their response to people leaving over price increases is to increase prices..

Hmmm. I'm beginning to think Netflix is not the tactical genius we thought...

Cutting the mid budget films to make more big budget films seems like a pretty questionable strategy. Whether through development or distribution, they're most "successful" films have come from that range, most recently The Power of the Dog, and The Lost Daughter.

But in terms of their wierd metric of hours watched, Red Notice was their biggest success last year. I saw someone point out that Netflix released Passing on the same weekend as Red Notice, but didn't push it at all, and meanwhile people flocked to watch Red Notice, mostly just to complain about it. The end result being it becomes their most successful film of the year.

Obviously everything is motivated by money, but looking at the measures they're taking in reaction to recent losses, it really does look like they're only going to make things worse.

So if they do the same here, that would be probably €4 each per month?

I watched it tonight and really liked it. It's very charming, and funny, and really warm and just an all round lovely film.

Sounds about right. Need to know the exact details. Maybe its obvious how this will work but Im a bit confused. I cant see it being a user addon for 4 euro. Then you could get basic for 9 euro and add 1 extra user and have the equivalent to the standard sub for 13 euro instead of the normal price of 15 euro. So a price drop.

The alternative doesn't seem sound either. Say you have a standard sub and you add an outside sub for 4 euro but that means 1 of your 2 screens works outside the home. So you pay 19 euro for 1 screen at home and 1 screen outside your home? Both options seem daft unless Im picking it up wrong.

It means will need to pay extra for each person that wants to use it outside your household. But it doesn't add a screen. So if on basic and the person outside wants to watch, then the account owner can't watch.

I just don't know how they plan on enforcing it. Like does it mean I can't be on holidays and watch on a tablet due to being a different IP? Or maybe they watch for consistent use outside.

I think Interceptor is out today too. Looking forward to watching it! I've been following it's progress for a year now at least.

Even without this I’m for the first time ever considering cancelling my subscription!

I find myself watching documentaries on Disney at weekends now more than Netflix

Lookin at the June release list isn’t helping ……

Interceptor was good fun. Cheesy AF (but in a good way) and was a real throwback to 80s action movies.

Hopefully this opens the door to more Matthew Reilly IP (and bigger budgets)

I started this last night too late and the arguing got a bit much but have to agree well worth the watch and still e finish later. It is unintentionally hilarious especially to start when they are both in the US!

I find having a fire stick comes in handy to pick up where Netflix leaves off on most series 😉

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,062 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Yes definitely I have one there with an iptv sub but still have the Netflix there just as a back up:) Over here in India Netflix is less than a fiver so no point in canceling it😉

Episode 4 of this latest season of Stranger Things is one of the best episodes of any tv series

    Fantastic

Especially for fans of 80s horrors like myself and most especially for fans of Freddy Krueger also like myself !!!!!

There is a very special cameo too…….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

Yup, exactly what I thought while watching it, brought me right back to the likes of the Hellraiser series, Nightmare on Elm street etc ... and I noticed the cameo too ;) took me a minute

I didn’t ! Until the name popped up in the end and then I guessed it . I did notice the tombstone nod to Friday 13th though. The drive in to the hospital and the doctor also seemed to be a nod to it . Just a fantastic episode. It to the writers credit that they have pretty much reinvented the show. It felt like they were running out of ideas in seas9! 3 with the grown up kids in ridiculous tiny clothes . It’s been a really good season so far

Just finished episode one and that was a proper scary ending!
