Thanks for reply. Good idea to try asking, you might get word soon enough since clearance seems to be moving quickly

Do we know if there were interviews being held this week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 ribbit

I think so, previous posts mentioned interviews scheduled for 16th & 19th May

Hi, I just sent in my clearance documents today and they came back pretty quickly to ask if they could contact my second reference - my previous employer - but they also confirmed that they wouldn’t contact my current employer without letting me know first. Hope that helps!

Thank you, yes that helps a lot!

Well done on getting to clearance yourself, I’m sure you’re relieved it’s moving closer to offer. My nerves are shot with this process!

    Hello

Just an update for people tracking timeliness. I submitted GV on 16/5 and it was completed today. That is a really quick turnaround.

That’s great the clearance is happening so quickly. That was the worst part for me checking the website multiple times a day!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 MenapiaH

It is very quick. Was informed of my dept today aswell.

Does anyone know what they have called up to so far? I’ve scrolled back through a lot of comments but can’t see.

I did my interview on Thursday. Was incredibly difficult imo. Defo haven't a hope. Very precise questions that I didn't have precise examples for.

Any idea of when we might expect interview results? Had my interview on 5th May (*shudders!), but it looks like interviews went on until last week.

Is it naïve to think this Friday? 1 week after final interview!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 119 ✭✭Kenrach

I'm from previous batch - last interview was 22/04 results 29/04.

    Results are out

I didn't make the panel and I am absolutely gutted. I scored very low on leadership and judgement, analysis - which I would always consider to be two of my stronger competencies. Together with a recent unsuccessful attempt at an internal AP competition, it hasn't been a great couple of months for me, promotion wise

I’m sorry to hear that but I had a year 2 years ago where I was failing every interview by a point or two. Took it as a learning experience and in December/January got 3/4 jobs I went for and now I’m starting as an AP on Monday. Persist and this experience will pay off

    Exact same boat!

Really sorry to hear that. It was a tough competition and I'm sure there's not much that separates everyone. Someone earlier in the thread said it very well when they explained that there were times they went for this competition and were not as bad as the result and then they eventually got the panel and felt they weren't as good as the OOM. Who knows? You've all the prep done, throw in for some other roles out there.

I got results today as well, and made the panel!

Commiserations to delricyo and anyone else who got bad news today. I've washed out of a couple of AP comps in the last few years at interview stage, despite senior management being very eager to get me promoted (I'm a civil servant already). I really think it is just plugging away a lot of the time, and becoming better at the competition process, so try not to let it get you too down.

I'm absolutely chuffed myself, as I wasn't expecting the notice to be so short for the interview itself (slightly less than 2 weeks), and I'd been planning to book interview training once it came up. I wound up getting a training slot for only the day before (and was lucky to!), but it did my prep a lot of good even so.

For anyone like me, who does well in the job but less well in interviews, I really recommend biting the bullet and going for training. It wasn't cheap, but mine is going to pay for itself many times over. Just try to give yourself more time than I did, to apply it fully!

Congrats Kirbi and commiserations to those who weren't successful this time. I also got results today and delighted to say I got through to panel. I'm an external candidate but in public service so hopefully I'll adapt to the challenges ahead! This thread has been so helpful through this process so thanks to all who've been part of it.

I have to add my thanks as well. It's always really useful to see the feedback from everyone as they move through the competition - for piece of mind as well keeping on track for prep.

Thanks to you all, you're a hell of a bunch!

Does anyone know/think will they call another batch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 caznemoy

Have any other counties outside of Dub, Kildare, Wexford been called yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78 ✭✭belleray

Hey, totally amazed to have actually passed the interview, third time is the charm.

Does anyone have any idea how many passed this round? I'm mid 30s in OOM.

Curious if people think they're likely to fill that many roles?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 213 ✭✭Kirbi

I'm in the 40s on OOM for the Open list, although I'm on both.

Given the way they've been going so far, I can't see a world where the whole batch isn't appointed. Although it could slow down from the good clip it's been going at!

Echoing this. It took me a good few attempts to get on the panel and the interview training definitely helped a huge amount. It pays for itself two or three paydays after your appointment.

This is the 2021 competition so will be running until they set up a panel off this year's competition. I'd be amazed if another batch or two weren't called.

I posted on the 2020 AP group too but thought I'd ask here too. Can anyone who has recently taken up role as AP give any perspectives on how they've found the role? I've made the panel but a bit daunted and worried about work life balance. I have a very flexible work life right now and I wonder will this change be difficult to manage. Appreciate any personal experiences, dm if you prefer. Many thanks.

Sorrry to bring this all the way back, but the last email I received was in September 2021.

"It is intended to invite those candidates who achieved a total score of 117 or higher and who have selected Dublin, Kildare and Wexford to Stage 2 of the selection process which is Video Shortlisting."

Is it fair to assume at this stage that I won't be called for interview? I was not within any of the 3 mentioned counties. I did receive a score higher than 117. I have not applied to 2022 competition which is my own fault. I also totally could have choosen and commuted to Kildare or Wexford in 2021. However, I was unaware of what locations would have the jobs unfortunately.

    Hi

I’m not entirely sure about this, others might have better advice, I’m an external candidate & find it all fairly confusing! But I don’t think there has been a 2022 campaign. I’m pretty sure everyone here is in the 2021 campaign. I’m from a rural county but knew best chance of an offer would be in Dublin so I put it down along with my own County. Now I’m delighted to have got through for Dublin but I’m faced with deciding how I can actually do it. If you didn’t select Dublin/Kildare/Wexford & if future vacancies arise in your selected regions then you could still be in the running. The 2021 competition runs until 2023.

    Hi all

For those interested in timing & process, I got contacted for clearance last week & while that was ongoing I also got contacted for permission to contact current employer - HR & my direct manager. But no details of offer yet.
