Seems like they got their info from Wikipedia, which contradicts itself.....

The Examiner basically write whatever Aiken tells them.

38,000 was the capacity when Bruce last played the RDS. With health and safety getting more and more restrictive I wouldn’t be surprised if it reduces from that but still should be around the 30 k mark. 18k is capacity for rugby games.

Are there any presales for the gigs or is it a free for all on Friday @ 8am? I've absolutely no interest in seeing Brucie but one of the girls in work is a huge fan and is panicking already about not being able to get tickets.

Aiming to get tickets for my brothers 40th on Friday. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed than multiple devices and a bit of luck come my way.

I got free tickets to him on the River tour in Croke Park and apart from the 3 or 4 massive hits I wasn't a fan. Loved seeing how into him all his die hard fans were and he played a really long set though.

Would love to see him again. Been to RDS in 2003, 2008, 2012, Point 2006, Croke 2016 and Belfast 2013.

This time, unfortunately it is far too expensive to justify. Would be great to bring the whole family, but 500-600E is just nuts. Always wonder how the ticket profit is spread out.... Inflation can't really account for that big an increase. Someone, somewhere is trying to make more money.

Good luck to those willing to splash out, and to the promoters if they manage to sell out.

    Have prices been announced?

I couldn't see anything on ticketmaster

That's not the point. There are many people who would love to go but cannot because of the high cost. I completely understand that gig prices need to increase for musicians to maintain a living, considering that their music has become so freely available nowadays. i.e. spotify, streaming sites etc. But those prices are just pure greed. When deciding ticket prices, he could have sat down with promotors and whoever else is involved and concluded that, ya, €100 would be a good price. It's top of the range for almost every gig these days, so there must be a decent pot left over for the musician based on €100 a pop. But no, Brucie and/or advisors that €100 wouldn't do. "Hell no, lets fleece the working man". Shure they know well that the vulnerable fools will lap it up. I know it's economics - supply, demand etc. But it still doesn't take away from the fact that it's greed.

Or maybe I'm incorrect in some of my assertions. Would Bruce have significantly more costs than other well know bands? I don't know.

There will be ticket drops every now and again with possibly some of the best seats been sold days/weeks before the gig

DONT PANIC AND BUY THE TICKETMASTER PREMIUM TICKETS BULLSHIT. NO ARTIST IS WORTH PAYING OVER FACE VALUE FOR

I'll try get my ticket and get the expense of it out of the way

Bruce certainly has more people on stage than other acts. I counted 18 on stage at one gig.

Still a horrendous price though. You should all boycott the event. So I have a better chance of getting a ticket.

You could apply that to any luxury item, which is what a concert ticket is. Air max were cheaper 12 years ago as well.

The E street band are 10 world class musicians, that's if he doesn't bring the Miami horns, or the backing singers, so yeah a little different to your average band.

Bruce doesn't set the price, promoters do, and when you factor in the rising fuel costs to get everything shipped in here from Europe, the strength of the dollar and the fact that venues have had no revenue for 2 years, there was always going to be a price bump, Bruce is just the first act to announce a show (for comparison Bieber in the 3 arena is 100).

Can we stop romanticising the working man garbage, if you've been in your field for 50 years, 40 of them at the top, and you aren't cashing in, you're a sap.

So you're against people paying more for better seats but for people paying the same to be 300m apart.

    Interesting.

Considering you can get all of your music for free these days rising ticket prices are no surprise. Well, surprised it hasnt happened sooner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,412 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

I like the fact everyone is getting charged the same price no matter where there located

I'm not against anyone willing to pay more for a better seat. I'd done it before many times

Of course they will bring it in here and guess what they will have no opposition as Ticketmaster can charge whatever they want due to that flawed above face value legislation.

I'm torn between Rome and Barcelona, anyone familiar with the venues..wonder which would be best?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,263 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Barca venue is a stadium. Very comfortable to get to and nice when youre there. Easy access to toilets, bars along the side of the pitch, no queues. Spanish crowds are great. Saw Bruce there in 2012 and going again next year. Sound was excellent.

Havent been to the Circus Maximus, for a gig anyway but its massive. I heard mixed reports when the Stones played there about the sound, getting to the toilet and back, getting a drink etc.

Probably get slaughtered for saying this and you can guess which poster will aid it to it but

With the hassle of travelling etc you'd want a ticket in good location. Buy cheap tickets then spend 3/4 hours on a bus/train to be stuck behind a pillar or something or worse a group of drunken yups screaming 'play this, ole ole ole)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,826 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

I completely agree, now imagine if you then realized you paid the same money as someone on the barrier.......

Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,398 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Definitely avoid the Barcelona gig if you hate the "Ole ole" 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,826 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

He won't be annoyed if they go into Carroll's and buy a green scarf.

This may have been asked before but what’s the story when you click on the link to buy tickets and it says “happening now” and cursor is going clockwise? Does that mean you’ve to wait for screen to refresh? Some people on twitter saying the screen doesn’t change and 30/40 mins later tickets are gone? Happened me last week. 10 mins of “happening now” but nothing about joining the queue??

Just have bought two for Rome. Circo Massimo!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,017 ✭✭✭el Fenomeno

Is there any way to avoid getting stuck behind a pillar in the Anglesea? Or is trying to get Grandstand the only sure way?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,826 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

Friday secured on work computer, Sunday on phone, boom.
