All it will do is make everything more expensive. Would they ever go away and leave us alone.

Just buy them all separate. Won't cost you an awful lot more, and as you say it's only a treat once in a while.

The deal I get the odd time on the way to work would go from 3.99 to 6.70. While not the end of the world that's quite the jump in price.

It's a non-issue insofar as it has literally nothing to do with anything. If losing a meal deal is a big issue in your life, you might want to open your eyes a bit more. Or is it just people don't like being told what they can and can't do, even though our entire lives are based on it (laws, regulations, processes, etc).

Shocker: Fresh produce is more expensive than mass produced crap.

But I agree, tax the fatty food but subsidise the healthy stuff. It's the only way. But it won't happen. And the more people that buy the cheaper crap, the less the producers get because the cheaper crap is mass produced based on far cheaper rates (due to bulk purchase) of the producers. The people are pushing the price of fresh stuff up by constantly wanting the cheapest option available.

I'd also be for meat to be removed from Supermarkets and only available in butchers. This would remove these giants from basically being able to dictate what they're willing to pay to producers, which by all accounts is already shocking. These giants are paying only 35c per chicken and 60c for a free range one. Just so you can save a few euro.

But it's the same as every market. People want the best but also want to pay the cheapest. They don't care who it affects down the line, as long as they get what they want. Fasion, tech, produce... people complain constantly about prices, etc, but still shop in the cheapest, massive chain they can get. Everyone eventually loses.

They really do have one solution don't they. Make everything more expensive. Honestly this is a stupid idea in the middle of a cost of living crisis. They need to think outside the box for once, and not try and tax people to solve every damn problem.

I think as pointed out above if you have such a crisis of living cost don’t buy the roll go buy the whole chicken.
