Absolutely fcuking raging with myself for not putting in an order for a new RWD when I was thinking about it............ the Fcuking night before the price increased by about €4,000.....

That price increase probably put an additional €2k on the 2nd hand value of my own 2020 SR+

    Raging.

    I'll raise your 39kW😁

OK, one of my first full charges so may not have been actually at 98%.

That's mad speed at that SOC, back to drip feeds now as I revert back to PV charging.

    RWD model?

Fair dues Slave, looks great. I'm going to follow your lead on the rear plate as it looks great. Any tips (or link) on where you sourced the 3M double sided tape? I think I'm seeing lots of 3M 'knock offs' online. I'm super happy with my vinyl plate on front so just need to sort the rear now...

Got the latest update this evening. 2022.12.1.

Now has Disney+ (No interest to me). Some other changes that will be of interest to those who liked the old software before Christmas. More apps available on toolbar, for me I like the heated front seats now available beside temperature controls and heated steering wheel also.

Still no sign of the time left on Spotify? Stupid black bar moving across the screen. How long is left on this song? 7 centimetres.

Either Aldi or Lidl have external rated heavy duty double tape at present, the 3M I used was a few years old Ali Express so most likely knock off, but still did the job

Thanks @slave1 for detailing your number plate re installing above.

Did mine today, front and back. Found a roll of this in the house: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gorilla-Tape-3044101-Double-Mounting/dp/B01DT6XGUC/ref=sr_1_11?crid=PT1OGBMG7EPS&keywords=gorilla+tape&qid=1649954160&s=industrial&sprefix=gorilla+tape%2Cindustrial%2C57&sr=1-11

Very easy to do, rear bracket was only held on by one screw onto backing plate, was rattly when closing boot. Sounds much better now.

Front I left the curved inner mounting plate there. Just removed the number plate from its' plastic bracket and stuck it directly to curved mounting plate.

Think it looks a lot neater.

No need to be, you can always revert back if need be. The number plate pops out of the old bracket, then just a simple matter of screwing off. Just don't use too much tape if using the Gorilla tape I used, it is very strong.

Back plate is a sinch, I've a vinyl plate ordered for the front, just lube up the area you are sticking to and you have plenty of time to reposition. I would not attempt to stick straight on in one go.

I like how little things about this car make me smile. Last week on a back road in the middle of Connemara there was a sheep on the road.

And, the centre console had a little animated sheep on the display in front of the car.

Who the heck even thought about programming that in - the little one got a giggle out of it, that's for sure.

Mine in getting rear tints right now, will posts pics later, very tempted to go for Limo 5% but settled on 20%. Not doing rear windscreen for the time being, can't see the benefit.

    Has anyone wrapped/protected/darkened the headlights?

Looks well, are you keeping the aero covers on too?

    Castlebellingham, yesterday...

Picked up a new model 3 long range this week... So far very happy with it. I had a performance on order but when I saw a LR in stock elsewhere I went for it.

Thinking of ordering a performance 3 but quick question - I'm based out of Dublin. Will I be able to make a one-way trip to anywhere on the island on a full charge without any stress of suboptimal conditions/etc. requiring a charge on the way? I've been reading about how the real world range is significantly worse than the advertised range (under perfect conditions?).

Yeah, I think the car colour suits the aero covers very well, I have the alloys fully waxed but still prefer the look of the Aeros

Depends what "anywhere on the island" means. Motorway mileage eats the battery.

I'm sitting here in Dublin on 92% in my M3P and I'm about to head to Dungannon in Co Tyrone. Navigation is telling me I'll get there with 44% left. (172kms).

I'll still take a quick top up in castlebellingham. It's approx half way so I'll use the toilet and grab a coffee.

I would think the far extremities would be pushing it tbh.... somewhere like Clifden or Skibberren might be out of range without a quick stop at an SuC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 donkeymaster777

I had to look those places up on the map...You really don't think Skibberren would be doable? Google maps is showing 339km...and the m3p is supposed to have 547km of range...Is motorway driving really that draining?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,986 ✭✭✭rocky

Absolutely doable one way, if you stick to the speed limits...

For the first 24k km I had a long term average of 250 Wh/km, driving at 133 km/h on motorway, with overtaking bursts to... 134 😏

In the past 2 months, not over speed limit, I see 185 Wh/km...

    Mine is a 192 model 3 Performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 280 ✭✭jordan191

Yeah motorway eats up range a bit in the m3p, but definitely do 420-450 kms on a full charge at this time of the year if you take it a bit easier

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

But you have to factor in how will I charge the car when I get there. Just as easy to stop some way along the journey just to top up. Like 15-20 mins of a stop just to cover yourself. Like you probably would do the journey on one charge but arrive and all you have to charge it is a granny cable.

Did Blanchardstown to Tralee yesterday with 25% battery remaining. Left fully charged at 100%.

280km trip; approximately 230km motorway driving at 120km/h. Probably averaged 80 km/h after that factoring in traffic.

This is a 2022 RWD so very happy with that result. Weather was quite good so I'm sure that helped but honestly was expecting it to do worse than that, especially on the motorway leg of the journey.

No floor mats as standard and now no home plug thrown in.

    Tesla are becoming apple.

Must be very recent they are not included? In March both were included

Yep decision yesterday. Bit of a dick move tbh especially given the price of these vehicles.
