Seven Seater Electric Cars

I am sure this has been asked before but just wondering what 7 seaters are available but more interesting what is planned to come out in near future. I have X5 and she is a thirsty beast so looking to replace at some stage in next 2-12months

Also have a company car coming up and will probably need to go 7 seater as well. Existing car is electric under company car scheme

So far what I have found

Nissan NV200 - available - awful looking thing and my wife would never drive it. She wouldn't drive the new Leaf so no chance

Merc EQQ - available - 70+k and it is quite compact inside. The "cheaper" model is on the long finger in terms of delivery but looks to be the best option at the moment

VW Buzz - 2023 - haven't seen pricing for 5 seater but 7 seater planned for next year. I love it, wife doesn't. The war is going to impact so I expect delays so might not hit stores till 2024

Tesla Model Y - 2023 - talked to Tesla and they have no idea when it will arrive, seen the Model Y the other day in town and looks smaller to the EQC so questionable. Delivery times and Tesla are terrible so probably 2024 as well

Peugeot/Citreon /Opel Zafrira-E - available - it's even sold on carzone as a bus so not really an option. Think it only has a 50kWh battery which is small for the size of it

Opel Combo-e - available? - was told it was a caddy can with windows by Misses. Which she probably isn't too far off. Seems cheap but every limited information on it.

Merc EQV - available - again more of a bus than a car.

I honestly think that is the range of electrics at the moment? as mentioned just wondering what else would be available now or coming soon that, thanks

Yeah I think you've basically covered it, I think there's a version of the Citroen eSpace Tourer which has a bigger battery but it looks like it's LHD only at the moment

I get mixed up with all the names so I will stick to Opel :-)

So my understanding is the Vivaro e-Combi is a smaller(compact) version of the Zafira e-Life. Both have a 50kWh battery but I think the European(LHD) version has a 75 kWh battery.

I believe they're all effectively the same platform underneath, so yeah they all have the same battery and fast charging

50kWh is definitely a bit small for something van sized IMO. The likelihood is that's the car used for long trips, so it would want decent range

Hopefully the 75kWh makes it here at some stage

Renault have an EV version of the new Kangoo coming. I think next year? It'll also be available in a fancier version with a Merc badge as the Mercedes EQT.

Some Tesla Model S have the optional 7 seat package. The two rear seats are only suitable for small kids though. One sold recently for not much over €30k, that was a bargain.

Seems like a year later and not much more options.

Can't even see a 7 seater model Y (though I suspect it's not a practical 7 seater regardless).

No pricing on the id buzz either, and from what I see you can't even configure a 7 seater.

7 seater Model Y is only for the US market for now. The two back seats are only for children

ID buzz is extremely expensive even for a 5 seater, the 7 seater will be even more when it becomes available

5 seater only, no? I don't see anything mentioned about a 7 seater version. Ugly as sin, and pitiful range

No the 7 seater is available and only a €1000 optional extra afaik.

And if you're in the market for a 7 seater, you can't expect it to be pretty. Should have kept the zip up 😂

The EV9 could be the car that brings 7 seat EV's mainstream. im discounting the likes of the Volvo XC90 electric because of cost

EV6 starts at about €55k now. EV9 is going to be very expensive I'd say, base model maybe close to €70k? Very few 7 seaters in the affordable range still.

As the OP already has an EV, just buy a used diesel 7 seater and wait it out for a coupe of years. I have a 2017 smax with only 90k kms and will run it until I no longer need a 7 seater.

Instead will look to replace the runaround leaf with a decent used EV for any journeys that don't require the 7 seats

Car is registered hence previous or current owner would have got the grant unless it was a company vehicle purchase. Seems reasonable value considering the space but be aware that the claimed 250Km would be the stuff of dreams I’d say.

Seems like a nice enough car. The middle seats swivel to face the 3rd row so as a larger family you can sit as a group to play cards or whatever.

Cost isnt announced but its reckoned to be from 60k to 80k stg in the uk depending on specs - for a KIA .

Spotted my first MAXUS Mifa 9 on the road at the weekend. Odd looking thing. Looks to be about 80K though.

Harris also had a rake of them sitting out front too, saw those when driving by.

I looked at a few reviews of this and not one described the operation and access to the last row of seats. Which for is the entire purpose of a 7 seater.

Showing as a €2500 option on the LR Dual Motor. Seems a hefty fee for 2 small seats as it’s really only a 5+2. Would surely be more popular if it was available on the cheaper RWD model.
