Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I also have 3 investments that i should be receiving a return from but I haven’t received a penny all I get is excuses

I think our best course of action is to contact Peter Boyle Solicitors in Dublin as he already has a high court case in the courts last week with WFS Forestry Ireland as he must have information we don`t also there seems to be two companies involved WFS Property Services(which was use to invest in WFS Forestry) and WFS Forestry Ireland, but only one is mentioned in the court case.

This may reduce the costs if we all pool our information.

I note from the article in the newspaper that the Council for the Department of Justice was in court on the 14th which I would think is un usual.

Hi, yes that is correct. The legal action is going ahead, you can certainly reach out Peter. My understanding is that this investigation will be done on the company if the court approves it, so everything will be investigated. Mr Craig knows this and we are getting the same excuses from him, no one knows what he did of this bunch of money.

have we any hope of getting our money back from that company 😡😡😡

I’ll contact the Guards, Peter Boyle solicitors, I’ll be flying over to uk to make a report to uk police soon and also I have contact detail for The Irish Accountants that I believe we should all be contacting.

Do you think we should attend court hearing on the 27th April in Dublin in mass to show that we are real people and Mr Hands cannot hide in the shadows anymore, this could push the case along quicker.

My tuppence worth advice is I would be seeking a winding up order from the High Court by petitioning the High Court with your collective liabilities of the company which are not being met. I would also be seeking a creditors meeting and the appointment of a liquidator. The sooner everything is frozen the better for the creditors and puts a stop to the fraud. The director or directors cannot seek a voluntary liquidation of the company in the present circumstances as too much moneys outstanding. A voluntary winding up is where the company can meet its liabilities. The party to seeking the winding up will be treated as a preferential creditor for their costs.  As for the policing of the Director of Corporate Enforcement in the past it was negligible and from my own experience where I experienced corporate fraud. I did not even get an ack of my complaint.

The Gardaí are usually involved when they are brought in by the liquidator. From my own experience I experienced a corrupt liquidator that was appointed by the company directors as they held they were the main creditors in lendings and foregoings that they did to their company. Invoking company law involves the High Court jurisdiction a very pricey way.

What I did successfully was sued the Directors in the civil court for fraud and breach of contract. I successfully had it followed up with the sheriff. This would allow you to go after the personal assets of the directors. The circuit court allows a max of €75,000 claim. I subpoenaed the very corrupt liquidator as a witness to get access to his very corruptly skewed “liquidators report” and needless to state he did not send the fraudulent activity of the entity to the Gardaí.

This case appears to be white collar crime at its best.

If approved, it will be the first time an inspector has been appointed to a company on foot of an application from someone other than the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

The court heard the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement declined to investigate and referred complainants to gardaí. However, gardaí declined to investigate on the basis that the issues complained of were civil matters and outside their remit.

The application was adjourned to a date later this month when Mr Hands will have a further opportunity to address the court.

Half way through back in court on 20th May

There is another statutory agency that may get involve if complaints are made to it which may get the Gardai investigating it. After all this so called company bona fide seems to be seriously challenged as is.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is the statutory body responsible for promoting compliance with, and enforcing, competition and consumer protection law in Ireland.

Forestry fraud is not something new. Seems to be easy pickings for having all the right credentials of being ever so "green" and offering renewable solutions and the assoc assumptions of green solutions of forestry being so profitable.

Hi anyone got any news on proceedings today or what went on in court

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 Ruggles13

Full day in court all submissions given to Judge, this was day two.

This is the first time that this type of case has been brought by general public to have inspector appointed to a company and looking for state to foot the bill.

The Judge is now going to review the submissions which may take up to two months before we know the result

Hi just wondering does anyone have an actual address for Craig Hands or any of his family?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 damo92

This shows a correspondence address that looks to be a residential address in the UK its shown as 63 Woodmarket, Lutterworth, England, LE17 4BY

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 damo92

It seems that there are also a number of related companies registered in the UK at the address Fulford House, Newbold Terrace, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, United Kingdom, CV32 4EA this appears to be the address for an accountancy company called TGFP that I would imagine will have more information on the directors using their address. Some of these connected companies include the following.

Walker Forestry Services Ltd (company reg 09183836) - Responsible directors - Craig Hands, Brendan Jason Golding https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/09183836/officers

Jingletree Limited (company reg 12842238) - Responsible director - Julie Hands https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/12842238

    Pre-Fir Limited (company reg 13907822) - Responsible director - Julie Hands https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13907822

    In Ireland, there is

WFS Ireland Property Services (company reg 633440) - Responsible directors - Julie Hands and Craig Hands https://ie.globaldatabase.com/company/wfs-ireland-property-services-limited#div_shareholders

In Malta there is also -

WFS Property Services Malta Limited (company reg C 94842) - Responsible director Craig Johnathan Hands https://ie.globaldatabase.com/company/wfs-ireland-property-services-limited#div_shareholders https://mlt.databasesets.com/company-all/company/94149

Any update on these gangsters,I have submitted my details of dealings to the inspector.not holding much hope of a return

  • Registered Users Posts: 4 lmsegal

Hello All, I am an investor in the WPS Hemp project which was sold via the Malta listed company noted in the message above. I filed a compiaint with the Malta Police and hired a lawyer in Malta who opened a case in the Court in Malta. An Inspector of the Malta Police economic crimes unit has been assigned to my case. I will inform the Malta Police of the appointnment of an inspector in Ireland to look into WFS and the two firms (WFS and WPS) are both managed by Craig Hands. My initisal investment in WPS malta was made in May 2021, was supposed to pay me quarterly interest, made one payment in 2021 and nothig since then,. Currently WPS is in default for 5 quarterly intetrest payments (1 for Q4 2021 and 4 in 2022), with another coming up in Q1 2023. If there are others on this board who invested in WPS Malta I would like to get in contact to share info and see what can be done to recover the investment. thanks!

FYI, here is a copy of an email I got today from the Malta Police:

    Dear Mr. Segal,

Thank you for reaching out and letting me know about the whole christmas tree incident going on in Ireland. I apologise for the delay in responding to your email, as my unit has been prioritising other cases which were deemed more urgent.

I have recently reviewed the details of your case. At this stage, my unit has obtained bank statements and other documentation of relevance related to Mr. Hands and his associated companies. We have also sent a reminder through Europol to our Irish counterparts in order to obtain further information on Mr. Hands and his associated companies, since this information is of critical importance to our investigation. Therefore, we are currently waiting for their reply before proceeding to the next stage.

I will keep you informed of any progress or updates as they become available. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best regards,

In that article it says -

Of the €7.1 million invested, €1.2 million was transferred to Mr Hands and his wife (more than likely that's Julie Hands who is registered as a director of some of the companies previously listed), €1.5 million went to companies associated with Mr Hands, and €2.3 million was transferred to people Mr Hands said were salespeople, the inspector reported, adding that he has yet to learn what happened to the funds after these transfers.

It looks like it was a lie from the start and no funds were used "for the purposes they were intended for" as mentioned in the article. Dont think there is a cat's hell of a chance of getting any money back from him but hopefully him, his wife and anyone else connected will get a lengthy prison sentence for their crimes if proven.

A number of us received payments in the first year before he stopped paying us back and from previous comments there is a likelihood he was running more or less the same sort of schemes in later years with other companies he operated such as WFS Property Services Malta Limited (company reg C 94842) mentioned on this site by other posters which looks to have sold hemp investments in a similar way (I would expect that the court inspectors findings in Ireland will assist the Maltese police on that one).

If there were no assets the company owned and he was paying out money to us saying that was generated from our investments I think that's clear enough evidence and as mentioned in the article "There is sufficient evidence, the Minister submitted, for the matter to be referred to An Garda Síochána".

It appears to be a possible Ponzi scheme from the start.

Whilst looking into the UK company that was mentioned in the article I previously posted I found a couple of interesting links which I thought I would share regarding some of Mr Hands other companies. its interesting stuff and looks like quite a few million has gone through companies he has been standing as director for, I wonder if this is one way that he laundered the proceeds.

    https://pomanda.com/director/922572410/craig-hands

It appears that he was in charge of another company which I dont believe has been mentioned on this forum before "Warwickshire Wood Chip Limited" which is registered in the UK.

The link shows that this company received approx. £5.9 million (approx. to €6.8 million). It also appears that he was taken to court for his involvement with this company and when asked to provide inspectors with information in very much the same way as he has with WFS refused to comply with the court order and provide evidence relating, I wonder what he has to hide in that company? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/company-director-pays-cost-of-staying-silent-in-waste-investigation
