I wouldn't go that far. It's a little rougher now, but only a little as people are getting two years of acting the maggot out of their system.

Eyre Square in particular seems rough all hours of the day. So much riff-raff hanging around. The place has gone downhill unfortunately.

Neither was it acceptable for a Polish guy to be stabbed and killed outside DNA (whatever it was called then). Or a Swiss girl to be killed on the line. Or a guy to have lost an eye on Bohermore cos some lads thought he was too cheerful. Or for a county councillor's son to have viciously raped a woman near Water Lane. Etc.
