Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The first major ranking event of the year, and a personal favourite of mine. Love the open draw 'FA cup' style format and multiple boards at once. A massive 159 player field will take to the boards. Details of the field here https://www.pdc.tv/news/2022/02/21/2022-cazoo-uk-open-field-confirmed, all tour card holders except for Michael Unterbuchner will compete.

The first round will see the Tour Card Holders ranked from 97-127 joined by the 16 Rileys Amateur Qualifiers and 16 players from the 2021 Challenge Tour and Development Tour.

The Tour Card Holders ranked from 65-96 will enter in round two, with the players ranked from 33-64 joining the event in round three. The top 32 join at fourth round stage on Friday evening

Not sure it's within the 'couple of beers and throw a few arrows' spirit of Rileys qualifiers to have Jelle Klassen and Diogo Portela winning through.

Some sort of exclusion on players who've had a tour card within the last 2 or 3 years might be an idea. Let them qualify via the Challenge Tour.

nice for the lads who want to throw some beers and drink arrows to have a game against the likes of a former world champion in Jelle though :)

Boris Koltsov unsurprisingly is also out.

John O'Shea vs Nathan Rafferty first round.

Potentially fireworks if Vladimir Andersen makes it to third round against Lewis. He was given a 2 year ban a few years ago over some incident at a local tournament

Willie O'Connor has a winnable enough L32 tie against Stephen Bunting.

Keane Barry has Neils Zonnevald - just about as good a draw as he could have hoped for getting someone ranked 75 in the L32 round.

Both will be Board3/4 games obviously.

Nothing too stand-out in the rest of the draw - Jonny Clayton v Jose De Sousa the only Top16 v Top16 matchup. MVG (Damon Heta), Gerwyn Price (Jamie Hughes) and Peter Wright (Simon Whitlock) will likely be 3 of the 4 TV games in the afternoon. 4th game will either be Clayton v De Sousa or Michael Smith v Gabriel Clemens (which really should be bumped down to Board 2).

Big shout out to Scott Waites beard btw, impressive stuff.

Searle v dvdb. the standout tie for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,931 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

    Yeah, it's been bad.

Rydz v Van Der voort in the next round.

I might give the cameraman a free pass on that one though 😁

Delighted Barry got through. It'd be great to have an Irish player to cheer on in the latter stages of big tournaments on a regular basis, hopefully KB can be just that!
