Annoyingly the App update is Japan and North/ most of south America only for now.

That's the problem, 'first quarter of 22' is any result I get. Try explaining that to a ten year old...

Soooo after seeing all the hype around Elden Ring I've decided that I'll probably start Bloodborne shortly after finishing Horizon Forbidden West since I already own it. Just some questions from those who have played a significant amount/completed it:

Is this the type of game where you can play it on or off, or do you have to power through it from start to finish to avoid losing muscle memory? The reason I ask that is because I like to play multiple games at once bit by bit.

Most importantly, how scary is it? I heard it's a horror. I don't mind goofy horror with illogical looking creatures but I want to avoid jump scares and realistic extended silent sequences, like the hospital bit in The Last of Us Part II. 👀

I wouldn't say you have to power through. In terms of combat it's not like you have a lot of complex combos or skills. You can always fast travel to earlier areas to get back into the swing of things. The biggest challenge if you're dropping in and out of playing will be keeping track of where to go and what to do.

As for horror, it's not scary as such. A few small jump scares here and there but very little. Mostly just being taken by surprise by enemies around a corner, but there's little else to the game other than combat so you learn to be on guard all the time anyway. Most of the "horror" just comes from the enemy and level design itself. No real stealth either so no tense sequences like TLOU.

    Leak on the Spartacus pricing.

$10 "Essential" - is the same as PS+

$13 "Extra" - adds PSNow but only the downloadable titles.

$16 "Premium" - all above plus PSNow streaming, classic games and trials (bit like EA play).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,579 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

So premium is more expensive than Game Pass Ultimate which includes PC and Console gaming if the leak is true?

Why wouldn't they try price the thing below the $15 of GPU.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,260 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

Yip, although I think PS Now lets you play on PC? At least you can stream to a PC.

But I'm not sure you can stream to a phone which is a massive plus that Game Pass has.

Also no day one releases, instead a trial. Maybe X time or X level to see if you like it, prob get the PS+ 10% discount or maybe a bit more if you buy it.

If they price it at $16 but you get the year for $140 then it's okay.

I hope their trials are better implemented than they're doing now where you get x hours with a game but anytime spent downloading the game comes off your time.

Middle tier for me then. Don't need or want anything from the top tier I reckon. Trials would be the only thing, as demos are missed by me.

I'm used to getting my ps plus for 45 a year during the couple of times it goes on sale each year. Will be tough going to 100+ just for added psnow and classic games.

Im only interested in ps plus. That is some hike. If that leak is true the monthly games need to improve or I'll be cancelling.

A quick restart seems to have fixed it. Still on the fence about buying Cyberpunk, it's pretty enjoyable but there seems to be an annoying amount of information on the screen a lot of the time. I'm playing it on a 55 inch TV and can't read what's going on most of the time. Maybe I need to go to the opticians!

Exactly my feelings. I usually get it for between €35-45 around November every year, no chance im paying over €100 for the same service.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,579 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

It's already $9.99 if you're paying by the month. The issue is you need plus for cloud saves which is a dick move.

When you say it will be a challenge to keep track of what to do and where to go...does it not have some sort of journal or quest marker?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,529 ✭✭✭jj880

Fair enough but I pay yearly (usually with a black friday discount). Maybe there will be similar offers available with the new prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,617 ✭✭✭Revoker88

Have to say €120 for a year for what we already get for €70 would be outrageously bad value

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,095 ✭✭✭OhHiMark

Why is everybody assuming it'll be 120 a year because it's a tenner a month? It's already a tenner a month for Plus.

Nope. No journal, quest marker, compass.... If I remember right there isn't even a map. You have one mission in the game and you just explore around trying to find your way (there are side things you can do for some NPCs but its never marked or anything, you might get a reward, you might not). You unlock fast travel points (lamps) as you go and you can talk to NPCs who might say something helpful, but also might not. As you explore, you'll likely unlock shortcuts and realise "Oh, this path led me back to this place, so that means I'll try the other side now", or realise one place is a dead end so you've to come back to it later.

That said while there are various paths to take, it's not an open world game. It's divided into different areas which mostly do link to each other, but the areas are pretty distinguishable from each other, so if you enter a new type of area, you're probably on the right path, and the paths themselves are linear enough. But those paths usually only open if you've done a certain thing, so if you're jumping in and out the game, that might be the trickiest thing to keep track of. But a quick Google will solve that easily enough. No shame in it. Even when the game tells you what to do it's not always easy to understand anyway.

Oops never thought of it that way,if that's the case happy days.

I'll get my sub at the reduced price once a year as usual.

I find I tend to dip in and out of subbing to game pass on PC,special offers and that are decent. Probably do the same with Spartacus

Hi, does anyone know how to fix issue having my PS5?

PS5 seems to boot up fine, but the colour gone black and white.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,036 ✭✭✭✭duploelabs

Have you changed cables and display device? tried different ports in your display device?

A small selection of what my local library has to offer, tons of PS5 games available also plenty of PS2, 3 and 4! Had no idea. Definitely worth keeping in mind. Must have had 30-40 PS5 games.

So you can rent them from the library or just take them off you have membership? Been a long time since i was in a library and I'm fairly sure if i went back, I'd owe a couple of thousand for a book i forgot to bring back when i was 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,575 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

Yeah, hell, if places are going to start renting games again, I'm all over that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭Wossack

No Ps5 games as far as I can see for any dunlaoghaire-rathdown libraries - shame

Funny seeing this as I popped into my library t'other day first time in years and spotted a few ps4 games, very small selection tho and I think rdr2 was the standout, but no ps5 games
