Add a minute on?? Are you thinking of yonder association football?

    Murray

    20 tackles made. 0 missed.

    Is that ordinary?

I think we have our backrow

Boyle after long-term injury finds form, and it's a form that has led him to the Irish squad

Prendergast, amazing animal, again and again!

    Oliver as pocket openside

And J.Murphy on the bench (at worse, could reach more)

+ Butler and McCormack stepping up for luxury back-ups

That bodes well for next year

I think it's fair. You're entitled to your opinion but it's eternally negative on Connacht. Tonight was a decent result after a bad run.

Wasn't Tuimauga brought in as loosehead cover with Buckley's injury?

Doesn't bode well for Aungier if a loosehead is being picked ahead of him at tighthead.

Aungier is just back of a double injury blow, it's better to let him build into games

Ill say it again, Ireland are crying out for a Cian Prendergast at 6, if not this 6N certainly with an eye to the RWC. With 6. Prendergast 7. VDF 8, Doris/Conan we have a well balanced back row.

The next round of games is absolutely vital to connacht.

They must come away from Edinburgh with the win if they want to have any hope of HC qualification this season.

If they come out of Scotland with nothing it will most likely see them drop to 9th in the table being leap fogged by the bokke sides who will have 2 games in hand.

An excellent result, gives us a little hope if we can win our next two games.

Duggan and Tuimauga went very well. I think Tuimauga might be a bit of a find, contributing with some big carrys and tackles as well as solid scrum and lineout work all at tight head. I'd keep him for sure especially after watching his reaction to the pen try WTF 😂😂

They better sign him up soon because someone else will swoop in the summer. Not many could make the change of LH in the regional NZ comp to TH in Europe within 3 months. He looks to have lost a lot of weight in a short period so obviously working hard with his conditioning. The signing has saved Connacht season so far given the injuries.

We have the most yellow cards in the league this season, along with the second most penalties conceded. Really need to sort out discipline.

An interesting little cameo at the end of the Munster match at the weekend, was Craig Casey having what looked like a private lesson from the ref on a rugby rule.

You'd hope that Connacht would be doing their best to keep players updated on what the rules are. I wonder how many of the penalty concessions come down to rule misunderstandings?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 595 ✭✭✭jimdemp

Rules dont matter in the URC its how you play the ref. But even then most refs are bias from what i seen this year. There is a reason rugby players say please sir to refs, they can decide a game, unlike soccer.

Any word on Burkes return? Connachts maul defend isnt the same since hes been out, Obviously its not just him but things like that probably hurt buckley at international level. I reckon if burke makes the same progress next year he could play for Ireland given that healy is declining.

He has really come on this season. It will be interesting going forward at loosehead.

Injury update last week said that Burke and Thornbury will be back training fully at the end of February.

Any one hear that Peter Dooley is heading west?

Would find that off tbh. Burke and Duggan have been doing well and are Both younger. Buckley will be back to full fitness. Can’t see Connacht having the funds for the four.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,617 ✭✭✭FACECUTTR

Rumour was Harlequins. We would have to be losing one of Duggan, Buckley or Burke if it was true.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,511 ✭✭✭Wegians89

Plus you’re probably likely to see tuimuague stay and cover both sides.

    buckley Burke Duggan

    Bealham aungier McCoy tuimuague

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,981 ✭✭✭connachta

Mc Coy will leave I think and be replaced by one of Saffer preannonced prop

But there's Illo in this too

    Still one too many..

Dooley won't come for next season IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

Are you talking about Roydon Swift? We are not going to replace an experienced squad member with a schoolboy. Swift will be in the academy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 554 ✭✭✭ShineyShiney

Game time has been good to Burke, Buckley will have a battle to get back on top and Duggan may also have a say. Dooley into the mix? Not sure it's where I'd be spending tight resources.

Chay Mullins may be going west, according to someone on babbling brook!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,391 ✭✭✭macslash

Wouldn't say no. Looked good in the first u20's game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,617 ✭✭✭FACECUTTR

Buckley,Dowling and Oliver back this weekend. Id imagine they all start. I'd like to see a Daly/Farrel centre pairing but how do you leave out Arnold?

I heard that a while back but thought because of the strong Bristol/connacht links it was the perfect rumour
