Jesus maybe, and a big maybe it's a penalty but yellow card for a red? Home town

GBFM commentary made a point, Frafita should have been replaced at the end of the first yellow.

    This too shall pass.

    Stupid stuff.

Rather than a lineout Connacht a pen for throwing the ball away.

    That was daft, Jack.

It seemed like a high tackle before that should or could have been a penalty the other way.

Terrible decision, is he supposed to vanish after attempting the block?

Brain fart from Scarlets. No need to go for the tap on pass. Just take the tackle from Papali'i.

really hope Connacht get this win, poor Fifita, that second card was not a clear yellow by any stretch. The ref changed his mind pretty suddenly from jumping for the ball to jumping in front of the player with weak evidence.

Think the Connacht #16 should have got a card as he was the one actually going to take the scarlets 15 out

Phew. Thought Prendergast was excellent even by his usual standards.

Delighted for Connacht particularly after that joke of a decision there.

Carty needs to have a look at himself for that penalty at the end there though.

Delighted Connacht won. Can they appeal that red after the fact?

That referee should never be allowed referee a game again. If your mind is that warped that you see what he seen then he's not fit to referee a game.

    It wasn't even a penalty.

Glad we got the win but that moment really spoiled things for me.

Ya it was clearly around the neck. Carty should have stayed down holding his head to bring attention to it.

That 2nd yellow for fifita was an absolute farce....

Bar that I think that is comfortably his best game for us though hopefully he can keep it up. Duggan got through a mountain of work too and shout-out to titi for a very solid performance at TH

Nice looking stadium but they could spend a few quit and upgrade the flood lights. Seen better in some local clubs

Also forgot to mention I thought Marmion was very good again tonight as he as been all season.

Jack was pretty good too and kicked some good goals but the silly penalty at the end went against him a bit (though I thought that was a high hit on him before he threw it)

    Whew!

Missed a trick at the end: get a forward for the last scrum, it's never going past 10!!!

Red card aside I thought fifita was excellent . The yellow isn't his fault, he's always going to grab that player, if other players were alert then he won't be the last man, less said about the red the better.....just awful! That said it's the tmo not ref thats called that.

Jordan Duggan another one who showed up big tonight! No need to big up Prendergast, he's got class written all over him.

Daly back was important, a couple of big important hits great take for our first try and some really clever decisions.

If patchell had played longer we might have lost.

The Fifita yellow card was correct. He made contact with the guy's head. No great force and that's the mitigation but he had to face some sanction.

    I wouldn't expect a ban from it.

The ref said nothing about contact with the head. Where are you getting that from?

The second question when applying the head contact process is "has foul play occurred"? Imo the answer was no.

Was watching in a pub with no sound.

Was it for the late hit then? Still a fair yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭AccidentallyOnside

Nope, ref thought it was OK, tmo said he had jumped across the kicker so it was an attempt to block the kicker not the kick.

Contact to the Head with what part of his body, his chest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 468 ✭✭Former Coach

Fifita’s second yellow (red) should be rescinded if common sense prevails!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭ElisaAtWar

For me prendergast (as ever) and Daly were the standouts. Otherwise that was a very ordinary performance against a very ordinary team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 332 ✭✭Strand1970

In fairness to Carty, he whipped the ball away as part of the tackle. He obviously did it intentionally. Normally a ref would just add a minute on to extra time. Our pack just dont have enough power.
