Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First two events are this coming Saturday and Sunday

It'll be interesting to see if any form carries over from the World Champs e.g Soutar, Rydz

Also how will the Q-school graduates do with the big boys

Interesting to see how the Irish lads get on:

O'Connor and Lennon both finished the season in decent form and had good world championships

Keane Barry going into second year of his tour card and hoping to finish in top 64

John O'Shea starting from scratch as new tour card holder

4 players from the challenge tour got in as well.

Do you know which tour card holders aren't there this weekend Kev? I know which challenge tour players are there but can't find who isn't there!

Yep. Nathan Aspinall, Danny Noppert - assume the same reasons they missed the Masters. Zoran Lerchbacher and Michael Unterbuchner too, unsure of the reasons with those two. This is from a list published by the PDC on 29/01, I'm not sure if there are any further withdrawals or indeed if there are if further withdrawls do more challenge tour get called up

Steve Lennon and William O Connor drawn on the same board, will play each other if they both win first games

John O Shea drawn against young Josh Rock in Rd1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

John O Shea wins round 1 6-1, Willie O Connor also through. Mickey Mansell and Steve Lennon lost though and Keane Barry in action now

Edit. 6-0 win for Keane Barry

    Jim Williams beating Price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Saw that game, Price missed a few doubles, but Jim Williams played good incl a 160 checkout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

O Connor, o Shea out 2nd round. Keane Barry through though

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

Peter Wright is now world number 1 I believe?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Michael Smith 5-1 up on Ritchie Edhouse ends up losing 6-5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

    No, but getting very close

Could be tomorrow though , if he wins today he'll be only €5k-ish behind price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Ryan Searle beats Wright in semi final. He will play luke humphries who beat gurney in the other semi

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

Oh. I'd read somewhere earlier that he just needed 750 more than price today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

    Humphries wins

First ranking title - first of many i'd say

Said in his interview afterwards he reckoned the Winmau boards made a difference

Have a look here - whoever runs site this usually updates live through tournaments - so you can see exactly the situation

William O'Connor on a decent run today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Saw his game vs Bunting - scored well but missed some crucial doubles

Snakebite vs Price in the final, Snakebite won handy enough

    MOD NOTE: Thread Title Updated

The qualifiers for Euro Tour Events 2 & 3 are on today.

It looks like there will be a full schedule of events this year on the Euro Tour so good ranking money to be played for. Hopefully some of the Irish lads than qualify today.

No Irish players have qualified for ET2. Qualifiers for ET3 will begin shortly.

Durrant still getting bet in these tour events but he's starting to look a bit more competitive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Keane Barry makes it through to German Grand Prix. O'Connor and John O'Shea playing now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,717 ✭✭✭roosterman71

    O'Shea through as well

    Although he lost the final, Heta threw serious darts averages: 99, 101, 102, 106, 104, 109, 99

Very interesting interview with Joe Cullen after winning today - especially his comments about walking into the floor tournaments as masters champ and a premier league player and the intimidation for want of a better word that it brings

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Back to back finals for Cullen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Great to see Cullen going well. He’s had his trials and tribulations but he’s a lovely player and seems to be a decent bloke. Confidence is so important in sport

Fair achievement to win both days - although it has happened a few times before

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

Durrant out of the top 32 now? What a fall he is having. Presume he will lose his card in January as he is defending good money at the matchplay and grandslam and worlds

I think Durrant has lost in the first round of the last 12 Players Championships. It's costing him money at this stage. Might be time to pack it in.

The PDC Development Tour for those aged 16-23 is on in Wigan currently and in the second tournament of the day, it's an all-Ireland affair as Keane Barry is facing Conor Heneghan in the final. Great to see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Barry wins 5-4 over Heneghan. Great stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Josh Rock wins dev tour 3.

Vincent Van Der Voort's son, Kevin, was playing in this earlier

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

European Tour event 1 on this weekend. Keane Barry just beat Muelenkamp in round 1, Gurney won earlier too

The king not holding back there in his post match on stage interview

  • Registered Users Posts: 689 ✭✭✭US3

That was some final last night. The winner is world no1, both averaged 106.

If price doesn't win the UK open next week the Snakebite is no1. There was no tournaments played between March and July 2020 so not sure how that affects rankings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Ya, by far the two best players in the tournament

UK Open should be good, but fully expect the cream to rise to the top

Nathan Aspinall caught the eye as well on his return - hasn;t played since the Worlds due to tendonitis in the wrist/elbow

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Although it was only a euro event but Adrian Lewis losing 6-2 to Karel Sedlecek is a bit of a shock. His sliding down the rankings is alarming

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Wonder if they'll start doing this for matches played in the UK

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

He’s finished and has been for ages.

The odd decent result can’t hide his terminal decline.

pity coz he was a fantastic player

Its strange watching MVG win a ranking title. First one in 2 years? Price and Wright both withdrew with injury but he's definitely getting back to his old self.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Durrant loses 6-0 to Gabriel Clemens in today's euro qualifier. His 63 average must be one of the lowest ever on the floor
