Very interesting interview with Joe Cullen after winning today - especially his comments about walking into the floor tournaments as masters champ and a premier league player and the intimidation for want of a better word that it brings

Back to back finals for Cullen

Great to see Cullen going well. He’s had his trials and tribulations but he’s a lovely player and seems to be a decent bloke. Confidence is so important in sport

Fair achievement to win both days - although it has happened a few times before

Durrant out of the top 32 now? What a fall he is having. Presume he will lose his card in January as he is defending good money at the matchplay and grandslam and worlds

I think Durrant has lost in the first round of the last 12 Players Championships. It's costing him money at this stage. Might be time to pack it in.

The PDC Development Tour for those aged 16-23 is on in Wigan currently and in the second tournament of the day, it's an all-Ireland affair as Keane Barry is facing Conor Heneghan in the final. Great to see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,157 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Barry wins 5-4 over Heneghan. Great stuff.

Josh Rock wins dev tour 3.

Vincent Van Der Voort's son, Kevin, was playing in this earlier

European Tour event 1 on this weekend. Keane Barry just beat Muelenkamp in round 1, Gurney won earlier too

The king not holding back there in his post match on stage interview

That was some final last night. The winner is world no1, both averaged 106.

If price doesn't win the UK open next week the Snakebite is no1. There was no tournaments played between March and July 2020 so not sure how that affects rankings

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,993 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Ya, by far the two best players in the tournament

UK Open should be good, but fully expect the cream to rise to the top

Nathan Aspinall caught the eye as well on his return - hasn;t played since the Worlds due to tendonitis in the wrist/elbow

Although it was only a euro event but Adrian Lewis losing 6-2 to Karel Sedlecek is a bit of a shock. His sliding down the rankings is alarming

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Wonder if they'll start doing this for matches played in the UK

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,621 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

He’s finished and has been for ages.

The odd decent result can’t hide his terminal decline.

pity coz he was a fantastic player

Its strange watching MVG win a ranking title. First one in 2 years? Price and Wright both withdrew with injury but he's definitely getting back to his old self.

Durrant loses 6-0 to Gabriel Clemens in today's euro qualifier. His 63 average must be one of the lowest ever on the floor

Willie o Connor and Keane Barry continuing recent good form and advancing to last 32

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,494 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

John o Shea also through to last 32. Steve Lennon had match darts v noppert but lost 6-5

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Jim Williams reaches his first tour final

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,244 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Fair play to Jim Williams on winning a pro tour event, I really didn't think he had it in him but he's obviously kicked on since joining the PDC. He's just outside the qualifying places for the World Matchplay now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

Keane Barry on course for the matchplay too. He's 12th in the pro tour oom.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Supposed to be a number of absences from the Pro Tour this weekend in Germany. Hopefully the Irish are going as it could be a good chance to gain some OOM points

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

More than 30 withdrawls. If Heta is going I think he could clean up

All the Irish lads went over and a few extra ones are attending:

    Michael Flynn vs Mathers

    John O'Shea vs Gawlas

    William O'Connor vs Toni Martinez

    Steve Lennon vs Daniel Klose

    Keane Barry vs Wattimena
