I am a temp and just tested positive for COVID and feeling very sick. However my agency told me I’m not entitled to sick pay. Does anyone know if I’d be entitled to enhanced illness benefit or not? I can’t afford not to get paid but feel very weak… can’t decide whether to stay in bed or work

Look it up on citizens advice bureau, you probably don't get paid for the first XXX many days.

Yes you’ll be entitled to it. You don’t even have to give employment details

Thank you both for the replies. Also wondering how enhanced Illness benefit works? I applied for it but it didn’t ask how long for etc.. how will they know how long I’m out of work for?
