The level of irresponsibility in the west is criminal. They're pointing their NATO war heads at Moscow. Remember how the Americans didn't like it when the Russians shipped rockets to Cuba? They are provoking fire. Filatov is one of the sane voices in all this. All he is saying is they want a kind of 'no man's land' between the west and Russia. That is reasonable and promotes peace. Independent democratic counties request to join a defensive alliance. They are not coerced in any way, or forced. Indeed many of the countries Russia doesn't want included in the alliance, are only they're to protect themselves from Russia.

A point in relation to a number of media posts elsewhere in relation to US President Biden falling into Russias trap, I think it is important to point out, Russia is run by an opportunist power base, Putin could well be its mouthpiece. With such an organisation when plan A does not work they go to plan B and then to plan C and so on. Putin is in a corner as his plans are constantly been found out, possibly by a mole in his circle or maybe an FSB agent who think Russia is gone loco. either way the west is not always falling into traps, it just looks like that. You neglected to mention the 'tyrannical dictator' in Iraq was both enabled and supported by your good friends in the States.
