PS5 digital keeps crashing

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. We got a PS5 in December 2020 and in the last 6-8 weeks it started acting up by freezing and rebooting. It got to the point where every time you turned it on it would restart before allowing you to play anything. We rebuilt the database, seemed to help for about a while, but…

In fairness Smyth's are not the worst.
That crown still sits firmly in Curry's/ pc world trophy cabinet. I swear the staff in Curry's are personally punished if they take in any sort of return or repair.
Depends who you get in Smyth's.
But they all chance this 1year, 28day sh1t. I guess 1 year is so standard that most people walk away and accept it.
At op glad you stood your ground and looks like it's moving in the correct direction.

Just received an email from Smyths.
Offered me a full refund through e-gift card.
Now I just have to keep an eye out for the next stock drop…
