Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can not target areas to lose fat. It's an all or nothing approach .

depends what you weigh, how much you want to lose, how you plan on doing it. In essence, with the open level of the question, i think the answer you seek is no...

Put the fork down, and if you burn 2k calories more than you consume - approximately, then you will lose 1lb.

if you complete exercise on top of this, you could potentially lose a little bit more- however with water retains and food consumption/clothes/ time of day , this will fluctuate.

if you followed a diet plan, and exercise, assuming you are a little bit overweight, its safe to say you could lose 10lb in 10 weeks.

download my fitness pal, and scan barcodes to aid in calorie counting

If you watch operation transformation, usually they manage to lose a few pounds in the first week because motivation is high but you want to try to do it in a way that is both healthy and sustainable!

No. Nothing impactful in a week.

They are also losing more than just as fat in that first week.

"if you burn 2k calories more than you consume - approximately, then you will lose 1lb"

Nope. 2k calories will be about 250g, or close to 1/2 a lb

You can often lose a lot of weight in your first week or two after you make significant changes to your diet - as your old diet is probably choc full of sodium and you are probably retaining a ton of water. Once you start eating cleaner - which typically involves less processed food, you will drop a lot of that water weight.

That is what people are seeing in week 1 of Operation Transformation.

1lb is generally 3500 calories, so eating 500 fewer calories per day than you need will result in a loss of 1lb in a week. 1000 fewer calories will be a 2lb loss. However not eating enough (eg. eating less than 1200 calories per day, or a deficit of more than 1000 calories per day) can result in a negative impact on health, energy, metabolism, and will be harder to stick to.

First week or two in a diet you tend to lose more as you'll likely be taking in less salt and drinking more water, so you lose water weight as your body doesn't need to retain as much water. You also can't target specific areas to lose weight from. You can target areas to build more muscle in, but where fat is gained and lost from is dependent on the individual person and is an all or nothing thing.

If you stop eating, 200-250 grams of fat per day.
