I'm an athiest so religion or sinning doesn't come into it for me unlike the lady mentioned in the OP. But I would probably feel like I had failed as a parent.

Onlyfans is the apex of the Social Media/Instant Gratification trend (which is the worst trend in living memory for me) - where you get your kit off, without even having to leave your room, for thirsty lads on the internet. It combines the increased sexualisation of social media - where the likes follow the arses, with a way to make easy money.

A lot of OnlyFans 'creators' are young and probably see some career ahead of them? Well if it's a respectable profession then it's game over before you even step foot in the door.
Once those pictures are out there, they are out there forever. Those pictures are all over whatsapp, all over file sharing sites, absolutely everywhere. It can't be undone.
What about when she has kids of her own? Will she try to pretend this faux-prostitution was 'empowerment'?
If she ever met a guy she liked, if he had any sense he would run a mile from someone on OnlyFans. So future relationships at risk.
Continuing along the guy theme - why bother getting into a relationship with someone who is actively flaunting the bits you should only be seeing in a relationship to everyone? Imagine going on a night out with a girl, walking into a pub where all the customers had seen her bits?
A lot of OnlyFans involves cultivating this personal relationship with subscribers. After all, porn is free - a lot of these people are paying for you to have this virtual relationship with them. How many boundaries are going to be crossed there?
There are almost certainly people on OnlyFans taking advantage of lads by leading them on to keep spending money - by intentionally cultivating these false relationships.
What happens if one of your subscribers becomes a bit too enamoured with you and finds out where you live?
It teaches people the opposite of life lessons that people want to engrain into their children. Hard work leads to rewards.
What seems to follow in a growing number of cases is plastic surgery.
There also seems to be this trend of visits to the likes of Dubai where who knows what is going on. I'll just speculated that the 'faux prostitution bit doesn't become so faux anymore.
It's finite - you will soon be replaced by the next 'hot young thing' as you grow older.

I can only assume this girl was on onlyfans (like those who use reddit to promote their onlyfans) .....

but I was sitting with the misses last night and she's looking at tiktok. One video loads up of a girl aged I dunno, 20-24, and she's sitting on a bed with her phone out listening to a video (you see the back of her phone) The audio is someone having sex (moans and stuff) and the caption this girl has on her TikTok video is "had sex with the landlord in exchange for rent money" - there was no joke at the end of the video. There was no bait and switch. She created a tiktok playing the audio she had recorded of her having sex in exchange for rent money and she put that out there.

What type of world do we live in?

Whatever about a country like America which has bugger all social supports, where stripping/porn/onlyfans/"sugar daddy" stuff can be seen by some young women as a way to pay their way through university and the like, in Ireland with significantly(and thankfully) more social supports I'm not seeing the reasoning to nearly the same degree.

Twenty odd years ago a mate of mine living in the US had a friend who was involved for a while in the porn biz over there. The surprise for me at the time was him saying that they never ran out of young women lining up to get into the meat grinder. Male performers were much harder to get. Every Monday there was a line around the proverbial block of new women. Now this particular guy was someone who would have sold his granny to make a buck, but even he couldn't deal with that industry for long.

Plus yer wan on tiktok that BA's missus was watching is IMHO far more likely to have put that up because of the biggest currency in the online social media world, attention. Social media has weaponised attention and boosts attention whores above all else and the more "shocking", the more attention they will get.

society is also becoming extremely dysfunctional, we ve managed to convince ourselves, if we dont have possession of loads of crap, life isnt worth it, so therefore we must do whatever it takes to get access to this crap....

social media is also adding to our social dysfunctions, its portraying a fantasy, as our reality deteriorates rapidly, we want to immerse ourselves further into this fantasy....

We're really not. Save for the postwar period up to the 80's America was always a high inequality nation and culture, even if all you looked at were White Americans. It could be argued in many ways its current trend is more a reset to the norm. Though the American influence on some parts of Irish society is too bloody high. When you see libertarianism, a sociopathy masquerading as a politic being swallowed by Irish people, that's not a good thing.

Interesting subject OP, I recently came across this issue in the I teach in. Its a DEIS school so its no surprise that a lot of female students are on, or wish to get on Only fans.

Not so long ago I was informed that a female student in my religion class was "performing" on Onlyfans. I tried to speak to her and explain what she was doing was wrong, regardless that she was 18. Unfortunately I had to inform her parents as she would listen.

Needless to say OP I agree with your take on the situation.

Now now. That was a bit mean. Ratting her out to her parents just because she wouldn't give you a free subscription
