Not Lidl App specific but I noticed heaps of the Fresh Deluxe range items marked down to 20c this morning in the local Lidl. There's usually huge amounts left over between Christmas and New Years that they mark down as the Best Before Dates fall due.

Lidl Talbot Street Dublin are giving 5 euro off 25 euro for most of January if you scan your Lidl Plus card and scan the attached bar codes. Not sure if scanning the photo will work but paper versions of the bar codes are in store currently.

not app specific, but looks like in some stores there's a new discount aisle for Favorina range ,with 30%off stickers , but the sign on the aisle shows 50% off .

A bit confusing, and most staff don't know what's the real price now : 50% from the initial price or from the already 30% discounted tagged price

At the till, it's charging at 30% discount from original price ( item scans at full price, and operator presses the 30% button , for orange tag prices )

Was a lady in front of me haggling at the till for a box of sweets ...sugar brings out the best in people...

The .jpg works here too, how do I use it? It seems I must have the paper version for TalbotSt only, barcodes are the same for all dates.

Had a choice of protein balls or butter biscuits for free from a scratch card.

Picked the butter biscuits but noticed a Sep. 2021 best before/expiry date when I got home.

If a paper one is needed (or you sure that digital won't work?) then it can be picked up in store currently.

Not sure myself, I went into the camera section in the Lidl app but it is asking for a QR code, not a barcode. I entered in the barcode number manually and that didnt work either.

They might be on to us becasue the Newbridge 5 off 25 earlier this month was a QR code and not a barcode like this one is. I presume Lidls head office was able to see the 5 off 25 vouchers being used in stores other than the one intended so maybe thats why this one isnt a QR code?

I hear Lidl hired an intern, whose sole employ is to monitor this thread and adjust app accordingly

To be honest, I don't particularly care but it made me wonder how they pick the free items. Is it a case of high stock items close to expiry in one's local store?

Be great if the 5 off 25s worked but doesn't look likely.

I just checked my biscuits and they don't expire till late 2022, maybe you just got unlucky

I was wondering if taking a photo of the barcode and using that might work at the tills? Problem is the staff member might not accept it but there are a few Lidls out there with self service tills, Moore Street and Aungier St come to mind for those in Dublin.

It would be good if we could find a work around as the vouchers last 4 weeks and this likely wont be the end of them- Lidl are set to open new stores in Lusk and Baldoyle in the coming months and Im sure there will be others in the rest of the country. If theres a workaround we could have months of 5 off 25 vouchers.

Ah now, that's a bit unfair on the company. Lidl are very good to customers, that would be taking the mickey

Did anyone have any luck using the voucher.

They should all be self service. So many times I have 5-8 items and they have 1/2 tills open with a line of trollies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,586 ✭✭✭JTMan

I have attached a clearer photo of the barcode if anyone wants to see if it works at a self-service till.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,833 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

I think they have plans to introduce self service tills in all stores eventually but it will take time. Would be good for those with just a few items.

Do they bark 'unerwarteter artikel im verpackungsbereich'?
